Man on Wire Director James Marsh Will Unveil The Vatican Tapes
FirstShowing.net — ... . Now Marsh will jump back to feature films as THR reports he will be helming the supernatual thriller The Vatican Tapes which centers on a series of events that unfold after a tape gets leaked from the Vatican displaying an exorcism that goes wrong. At least they're laying this all out on the table as opposed to The Exorcism of Emily Rose which instead portrayed itself as an Exorcist style horror flick, when it was really just a courtroom drama with unfrightening flashbacks. That's right, I said it. ...

And with his doc background he'll probably have a better handle on how to make the footage look 'found.' How long will this trend continue? Audiences are shockingly gullible - so many people thought that The Fourth Kind was based on a true story despite Universal really doing the bare minimum amount of work selling that aspect - and they continue to love thinking obviously faked stuff on YouTube is real, so it could go on for a while. via the Hollywood Reporter Here's an Islamic exorcism... caught on tape!

Stalked: What Alice Forgot, April 23, The Vatican Tapes
Filmstalker — ... came up with. The story comes through The Hollywood Reporter . The film will follow the events after a video is leaked from the Vatican that shows an exorcism going terribly wrong. I presume that the horribly wrong idea is that the actions of the exorcism cause someone to die, and probably in a totally real world way rather than anything supernatural. Still, the story states it's a supernatural thriller, so maybe the exorcism is real and the court case ignores the religious and supernatural aspects. We'll have to wait and see.
