... Hasbro is hard at work to resurrect the property, though they're not sure if they should jump directly into a full-length feature or warm the waters a bit with a TV series first. Either way, it looks like Peter Barsocchini, who wrote the High School Musical films, will be on board, either as writer or producer.
Say what you will about bringing back Jem, but I can't knock the idea of kitschy glam-rock making a return to my screen.

With Stretch Armstrong , Ouija Board , Candyland , Battleship , Clue , and Monopoly all headed out in the next few years, the news exactly exactly shocking. (I'm still waiting for the Lincoln Logs movie, however). As of now, relatively unknown Chinese director John Chu is, at least temporarily, attached to the project, as is High School Musical Scribe Peter Barsocchini, according to Pajiba , though it is not yet known whether Barsocchini will write the script or merely produce. ...

Pajiba has some truly outrageous news, they are saying that Jem and the Holograms might be coming back as either a movie or a TV show. Fresh off of the success of GI Joe and Transformers, Universal and Hasbro are in the beginning stages of figuring out what to do with the awesome cartoon, but it is looking like in some way it will be back! Hopefully it will remain a cartoon because if they make it live action you know they will cast someone cheesy like Miley Cyrus in the role and Jem deserves better than that! I really hope they do it because it will be fun to see how thay ...
