... The screenplay was written pre-strike by Stanley Weiser, who had co-wrote Wall Street with Stone. Weiser and Stone read 17 books as part of their research for the script. W. began filming late last month in Shreveport, Louisiana. The film is intended to be released for the presidential election in November 2008, or the Presidential inauguration in January 2009.

W is scheduled to release sometime later this year, probably right around election time.

... look at W. proving that it actually does. It's creepy. Granted, it is still President Bush as filtered through the Handsome and Rugged Machine (TM), but it's not nearly as outlandish as I expected. The same goes for Elizabeth Banks. The magic of hair and makeup. Let's just hand them the Oscar for this one. No release date yet, but I am beyond intrigued now. Stone should make this a new franchise.
