I am – Hercules!! Jude Law ("The Holiday," "Sleuth") will play Dr. John Watson to Robert Downey’s titular sleuth in Warner Bros.' “Sherlock Holmes." The Warner Project, directed by Guy Ritchie ("Snatch," "RockNRolla"), is not to be confused with Judd Apatow's untitled project at Sony, which stars Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell as Holmes and Watson. Variety reports today that Jude Law is in negotiations to join the cast of the Guy Ritchie directed Sherlock Holmes movie. Law would play Watson to Robert Downey Jr.’s Sherlock Holmes.

Well, at least one of the stars will be British, right? I like Jude Law, but I have to wonder if he would have made a better Holmes. I have a hard time seeing him as just a sidekick, but either way, this project is shaping up to be very interesting indeed. Will it actually be the blockbuster that Warner Brothers is hoping for?
