Who’s Bad? Kilmer, Xzibit Join Bad Lieutenant
Published 7/3/2008 by Kirsten Anderson at At The Movies - Film News and Reviews
Xzibit looks all business in his X-Files character. His next mission? I suggest keeping full frontal shots out of Herzog’s Bad Lieutenant.
Werner Herzog is apparently not remaking Abel Ferrara’s The Bad Lieutenant. Instead, it seems, he is “re-imagining” it. Does that mean he imagined it once and now is imagining it again? Has he ever actually seen it, or only imagined it. Whichever, he is rapidly adding cast members.
Variety reports that Val Kilmer and Xzibit are joining the film which already stars Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes. Kilmer will play corrupt cop Cage’s partner ...

Hancock made a bunch of money on Tuesday. Yay, Will Smith IS America!
All together now, in our best Werner Herzog voice: “Don’t call it a reeeemaaaaake!” But whatever it is, Val Kilmer and Xzibit have joined the cast of Bad Lieutenant.
Timothy M. Gray’s midyear assessment of the Oscar race finds a lot of ways to say “no one knows anything.” The uncertainty is causing such a frenzy that we’re apparently considering handing out Oscars to Hamlet 2 and (maybe even worse) The Visitor. Please, Toronto, deliver us from this ...

There’s A New Bad Lieutenant In Town
Published 7/3/2008 at Complex
Movies There’s A New Bad Lieutenant In Town badltposter Variety is reporting that Val Kilmer and Xzibit are the latest to sign on to Werner Herzog’s update of Abel Ferrara’s 1992 crooked-cop classic Bad Lieutenant . The new version—which Herzog is claiming is not a remake, but a continuation—stars Nic Cage , though we doubt Ol’ Melty Face can hold a candle to Harvey Keitel’s original performance. Keitel’s drugged-out, alcoholic, minor-raping, compulsively gambling scumbag paved the way for Denzel’s Training Day tour de force and reinforced what quite a few of us already thought about the boys in blue (word to Spider Loc ...
Val Kilmer and Xzibit Join Werner Herzog's 'Bad Lieutenant'
Published 7/3/2008 by Elisabeth Rappe at Cinematical
Filed under: Action, Thrillers, Casting, Celebrities and Controversy, Newsstand, Remakes and SequelsWerner Herzog's Bad Lieutenant cast just became a whole lot crazier. Variety is reporting that Val Kilmer and Xzibit are joining Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes in the much-maligned remake / re-imagining / re-something of Abel Ferrara's cult classic. Kilmer will be playing Cage's police partner, presumably the straight arrow to complement Cage's cop-on-the-edge. This comes right on the heels of Kilmer being cast in Silver Cord, so I think it's ...
