Check These Out: Awesome Early 'Let Me In' Concept Posters
FirstShowing.net —
... his in-the-works Let the Right One In remake, we already have three awesome posters? SlashFilm has dug up these poster designs for Let Me In, the Colorado-set US remake of the beloved Swedish vampire film, which are all actually very cool. As far as I know, these aren;t official posters (since it hasn't even started shooting), but rather early sales posters created to help sell the film in markets and get funding. So they don't feature the actual cast or anything like that - but they're the same kind of posters I ...
Poster art for the LET THE RIGHT ONE IN remake gives a tiny sliver of hope...

... best as a filmmaker, but he's entering some extremely dangerous waters with this movie. He's not remaking a good foreign film, he's remaking a brilliant film, one that is still fresh on the mind of those who love it. Now, my headline says there's a glimmer of hope to be had with this story and there is. I was certain the remake was going to feature older kids, 16-17-18 year olds, which completely sexualizes what is at its core an innocent coming of age story. Judging by the art that Slashfilm got the scoop on Reeves might at least be aiming in the right direction with the ...
‘Let Me In’ Posters a Bit Premature
Unrealitymag —
... but he’s a competent director so I’m sure he can make it work. The kid playing Oscar is rumored to be Kodi Smit-McPhee, who plays Viggo Mortensen’s kid the upcoming The Road, but that’s far from a sure thing at this point.
I’m still on the fence as to whether this is a good idea or not. I would say no, but I’ll still see it just to find out what Matt Reeves makes of it.

... They haven't cast a single person or shot a single frame, but they've released three early pieces of art-work - specifically, three concept art posters for foreign sales (I'm sure Sweden's just dying to see this one!) - for Let Me In, the American remake of Tomas Alfredson's brilliant and only-a-year-old vampire coming-of-age love(ish)-story Let the Right One In. Here they are (via): ...
concept posters for Let Me In revealed - remake remains unnecessary
Oh No They Didn't! —
... their names have been changed to Owen and Abby. Avy Kaufman (The Sixth Sense, Garden State, Lemony Snicket) is currently casting the the two leads, and it was recently reported that Kodi Smit-McPhee (seen alongside Eric Bana in Romulus, My Father and co-star of The Road) is up for the role of Owen. The previously announced January 15th 2010 release date has been pushed back to a “Fall 2010″ TBA date, which might also give Overture Films a chance come Awards season. source This remake is so pointless, just a waste of money and time. The Swedish movie ...

... Reeves is looking for more of a direct adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s original novel rather than a straight remake of the Swedish film. Casting is currently underway.
Take this just as rumor, but SlashFilm is also claiming that an early choice for the part of Owen, the young boy who is befriended by an aged, vampire child, could be going to Kodi Smit-Mcphee. Smit-Mcphee will soon be seen starring alongside Viggo Mortensen in ‘The Road.’

Neither here nor there, I guess, but this morning’s random bit of anxiety concerns the fortcoming remake of “Let the Right One In,” Matt Reeves’s “Let Me In.” These concept posters at /Film got the ole’ stomach churning again this morning. Let The Right One In Remake Puts Eli In Leggings [Let The Right One In]

... much intended to "pull one over on the audience," or maybe they cut Eli's back story entirely. But, the stark snowy appeal is still there, so we know that Cloverfield director Matt Reeves at least has the right idea. Plus I'm very happy with the recent casting rumors, but there's still plenty of reason to be concerned about a remake of an already-perfect film. Here is another chilling concept poster... Check out the additional posters at Slashfilm.

LET ME IN Let’s Out New Posters
Hollywood Hills —
“Let Me In” is the American remake of the very recent and very well reviewed “Let The Right One In.” The story follows two young children’s friendship while one of the children is a vampire. I’m sure it goes a lot deeper than that, but I haven’t seen the original yet so I’m keeping this one on my list to check out.
You can see the rest of the new posters at /Film.

... And according to script reports they're going even further distancing the two films by renaming at least the two main characters - instead of Oskar and Eli we now have Owen and Abby. Which... again I refer you to the tennis match in my head. We've swung back to unhappiness. In the book (which I'd quote if I had my copy right now), Eli's name has some very specific and deeply significant purpose on a couple of fronts. Slight spoilers ho for those of you who haven't seen ...

... have been released and I say promo because no cast members have been confirmed yet. Casting is under way but no one has been officially announced yet so the two pre-teens in the one of the Let Me In promo posters are not the actors playing the two key parts in John Ajvide Lindqvist’s beautiful tale.
