LiLo is obvs not ugly, but she WILL be guest starring on ABC's Ugly Betty! The 21-year-old's first day of shooting was yesterday - Variety reports that Lindsay will appear on the series' season finale, not to mention five episodes of next season as Betty Suarez's old schoolmate. Turns out Linds' character wasn't too nice to Betty in high school, but now Betty is the one with the better life and more promising career... Hmm, does this sound familiar? Sounds like some pretty ironic casting! ...

Ugly Betty is following suit - with none other than Hollywood's poster child for poor choices and bad ideas: Lindsay Lohan. Rich actually reported on this way back in November, but nothing came together. Blame the WGA Strike or the frequent trips to rehab ... take your pick. Variety has now confirmed that Li Lo will guest star in the upcoming Ugly Betty finale. But it doesn't stop there. ...

There was a time, probably around the era of the Tina Fey-scripted comedy Mean Girls, where I quite liked Lindsay; she had matured from a kid actor into a sexy, self-assured bombshell of a woman with fine comedic chops and a burgeoning career. Since then, she's become a punchline of a joke no one cares about any more: trashy, crotch-flashing tabloid fodder. So I was pretty irked to see that she was joining the cast of Ugly Betty , a series which is making me slightly nauseous with all the good cheer, melodrama, and "heart" that they've been cramming down our throats since firing showrunner ...

It looks like I've got some more "stunt casting" news to report: Lindsay Lohan will guest star on "Ugly Betty" for six episodes: "It's understood that Lohan plays an old schoolmate of America Ferrera's Betty Suarez character. Lohan's character was not particularly nice to Betty back then, but when the two bump into each other in the finale, Lohan's character is down on her luck, in sharp contrast to Betty's glamorous and promising career at Gotham fashion mag Mode." Fitting: (Adjective) Suitable or appropriate under the circumstances. Lindsay Lohan's guest appearance for "Ugly Betty" has been confirmed, with a spot on the finale and five more appearances set for next season. According to Variety, Lohan will play an old classmate of Betty's who is down on her luck, "in sharp contrast to Betty's glamorous and promising career." Without knowing too much about the character, I can already tell that sounds like a real stretch for old Lohan. I wonder if the character was tailor-made especially for Lindsay, or if the script just called for a raspy-voiced, ...
