Of course you know Amy Winehouse didn't get the Visa, but got 5 out of the 6 Grammys awards she was nominated for. And aside from some breath-taking performances, there were some disappointments (Beyonce).Prince even took home a statue! Rihanna's "Umbrella" got her and Jay-Z an award. The UK government is considering proposals that would force ISPs to look for illegal music downloads and cancel the service of repeat offenders. (MacWorld)
Geoff Taylor, chief executive of the British Phonographic Industry, writes in an op-ed in The Times that telecoms are profiting at the expense of the music industry, and he calls for ISPs to monitor their traffic and sniff out illegal music downloads. (Times Online)
This looks like a coordinated effort: Here's a report that file-sharing takes up 95% of web traffic at night. (Times Online)
