... Nas managed to knock Lil Wayne out of the #1 spot with the debut of Untitled this week, which moved about 187K. I’m kind of surprised that the sales are so low considering all the hoopla and fuckery surrounding this project. To put things in perspective, unlike with this album, the “controversy” surrounding Hip-Hop Is Dead was mostly confined within the Hip-Hop community, and that bad boy moved 354,000 during its first week in stores. And this is a better album than HHID in my humble opinion. ...

Nas’ album sold 187,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, becoming the rapper’s fifth No. 1 here. Nas’ prior album, 2006’s “Hip-Hop Is Dead,” also debuted at No. 1 but sold 354,000 over Christmas week.

Wasn’t sure how good the album would do with the videos not getting too much play on television but Nas has a fan base that makes sure to buy his latest work.
