Good News, Bad News: PRIVILEGED, LIPSTICK JUNGLE, SNL & HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER
the TV addict —
... Good News: After picking up PRIVILEGED for five additional episodes, this TV Addict’s faith in a network’s ability to show patience by allowing a show to find its audience was momentarily restored. NBC Actually Cancels Two Shows!
Vulture —
... . But no more! According to The Hollywood Reporter's James Hibberd, the Peacock has axed the new Christian Slater–starring schizophrenia actioner, My Own Worst Enemy, along with year-old would-be Sex and the City heir Lipstick Jungle. Both shows have been struggling with viewers, with Enemy's low ratings partially due to the diminishing power of Heroes as a lead-in, and Lipstick's owing to the show's crappy Friday-night time slot. Since we're pretty sure NBC doesn't have anything else to run, both will ...
"Lipstick," "Enemy" Dead?
The HeldenFiles Online —
... James Hibberd of the Hollywood Reporter has sources saying "Lipstick Jungle" and "My Own Worst Enemy" are kaput. Story here. Not at all surprised about "Enemy," which was a show that seemed to have nowhere to go pretty much as soon as the first episode was over. "Lipstick," meanwhile, was passable fluff when I watched it (and better than "Cashmere Mafia"), and I work with at least one fan. But it wasn't something to get excited about. And the demise of these shows is one more indication that, with the exception of Thursday ...
Sexiness And A Sex Position Couldn't Save Lipstick Jungle And My Own Worst Enemy [Sad Things]
Gawker —
... Sad news for those who are fans of people who were famous about eighteen years ago. NBC has canceled Christian Slater's new spy-with-dual-personalities show My Own Worst Enemy and Brooke Sheilds' the-world-is-a-cold-dead-place lady drama Lipstick Jungle. The latter was something of a miraculous holdover from last year, while Slater's show sputtered and died after only a few episodes. This is bad news for the struggling NBC, which had pinned high hopes on Enemy, launching a rather enormous ad campaign. At least the show had one cultural zeitgeist ...
Officially Cancelled TV Shows

... Subsequently, NBC has axed “Lipstick Jungle” and “My Own Worst Enemy.” The Christian Slater drama fell a whopping 4.3 million viewers this week. Meanwhile “Lipstick Jungle” took a slightly smaller plunge of 3.3 million. Finger pointing at the reason behind the drop began with a move in scheduling. “Lipstick” moved to Friday and of course it started to sink. ...

... That means NBC will likely be finding a new chairman of programming. TV watchers nationwide are staring at their watches wondering how quickly that will happen. More after the jump.
Hibberd at THR Live Feed: Though the "Lipstick" number was an improvement on the previous
week, the show's ratings have been below the line for a while now, and
sunk into the red zone after the drama moved to Fridays.
NBC's expectation for the return of "Lipstick" was modest, but
"Enemy" was considered an important show. A spy ...
NBC Doesn’t Even Like Its Own Shows
Fatback Media —
... last big movie he was in was Gleaming The Cube. So maybe he can get a job as a professional skateboarder.
Sure he starred alongside Tara Reid in a plot less horror movie a couple of years ago, but I couldn’t get over the hideous mess that is Tara Reid’s stomach in that flick. Maybe he can get another co-star with cosmetic surgery nightmares plastered on their body like Michael Jackson. Anything to make Christian look better while doing a comparison.

It's not really quite so creative, that one. ...
