Networks Sue a Tech Company That Makes It Easy to Post Bloopers
Media Decoder — It is awfully easy for bloggers these days to record a blooper on television — an accidental swear word, an angry tirade or some other embarrassing episode — and upload it to the Internet. NBC, CBS and Fox apparently think it’s too easy. The parent companies of those networks filed suit this week against Redlasso, an Internet start-up that makes it possible to share TV clips with just a few clicks. Lawyers for the media companies said Redlasso had caused “serious and irreparable harm” and “demanded Redlasso stop reproducing, distributing or displaying the broadcasts,” Reuters reports ...
