Will Reilly turn into a bloodsucking Freak ?
FilmWad — ... C. Reilly, Josh Hutcherson and Chris Kelly are in negotiations to star in Cirque du Freak, an adaptation of the kids' lit series to be directed by Paul Weitz. The book follows two friends (Hutcherson and Kelly) who attend an illegal freak show featuring an ancient vampire and a giant spider. Of course, something goes wrong and the pair find themselves forced into vampiric servitude to Larten Crepsley. Reilly is in talks to play the vampire according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Cinematical — ... showcased anyone who was a bit different. Perhaps they had much excess hair, or were particularly tiny or tall. Maybe they were twins who were bonded by more than sibling love, or dudes missing appendages. But times have changed, and that's not really acceptable anymore. So, if you want to delight in all things freak, you've got to be able to stomach seeing dudes nail things into their body, or, in the case of cinema, see a Freak Show that's more fantastical than "freakish." I Watch Stuff - The Best Movie News Ever — ... About a Boy's Paul Weitz is making just such a thing, adapting Darren Shan's Cirque du Freak book series, and has cast John C. Reilly as the vampire. Why has it taken us this long to think of a curly-haired, kind of chubby vampire? I don't know. But at least we got there. PS: I'm going on a short vacation, so there will be no new posts tomorrow.
