Variety today confirmed rumors that Ryan Reynolds will play Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Also joining the cast is Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am (oh my god creative punctuation - you're so clever!!). Twentieth Century Fox has added three more superheroes to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, and hip-hop artist will.i.am .
Marvel Comics who created X-Men, has been eyeing the possibility of casting Reynolds as Deadpool, an assassin with self-healing powers, for some time. Should the character prove popular among moviegoers, Deadpool and Ryan could be spun off into its’ own film series.

will.i.am makes the career transition from hitmaker to mutant.
Coming right after the news that Ryan Reynolds would play Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Variety is reporting that two more characters from the Marvel universe are joining the cast. Taylor Kitsch will be playing Gambit, and will.i.am will take on the role of John Wraith. Kitsch is best known for the TV show Friday Night Lights and will.i.am is most famous as the leader of the mild hip-hop group Black-Eyed Peas. This will be his film debut.
