Should Comedies Get a Free Pass from Critics?
Should critics hold comedies to the same standard as more highbrow films?. No it shouldn't. Especially not at dire times as these when EPIC MOVIE still reigns...

A world in which I could fill my netflix queue with comedies that are entertaining, well-written, smart and well-acted... {sigh} But I still end up watching more than my share of bad comedies and skipping over the serious, critically acclaimed films that I'd like to see because at the end of the week, I sometimes need to turn off the brain.

I think there are times when people want to see a serious film, but the vast majority of the time life is so serious as is we just want to zone out and be entertained.  While I understand it might not be as rewarding for the actor, it's what we need.
