Apparently, the company had been interested in the film for over two years, ever since Kaufman described it to the powers that be over dinner. Quite an interesting film to describe over dinner if you ask me, but it has resulted in the pic finally getting a slightly solid release date: October 2008, i.e. Oscar season.
