In a statement issued yesterday, Richard Roeper announced he will be leaving EBERT AND ROEPER next month. "I wish Disney the best of luck with their new show, whatever form it may take. In the meantime, it is my intention to proceed elsewhere with my ninth year as the co-host of a movie review show that honors the standards established by Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert more than 30 years ago. ... At The Movies that started with Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel, and then continued on with Richard Roper after Siskel's death is going through a major change. According to Chicago Tribune both Roeper and Ebert are no longer with the show and after 33 years Disney is going to take the show in a different direction. What that means is unknown at this time, but since I never agree with their reviews, I think it is about time they changed it up. ...
