The film, deemed “special-effects heavy,” cost about $20 million to make, and Sony Classics plan to pay a price somewhere in the low seven-figure range for US rights. The original cut was 4 hours long, and was subsequently shortened for its festival unveiling, and Kaufman has said that he plans to cut the film down even further before its official release.
