100 Best Films of the Decade
JAKE WEIRD —
... story gave Heath Ledger a chance to explore hitherto unsuspected depths. It’s a hugely powerful performance — his inarticulate yearning is almost painful to watch. 16 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Michel Gondry, 2004) Testing the limits of narrative convolutions and visual technique, Gondry directs an ingenious script about memory-wiping. A central tempestuous romance between Jim Carrey’s Joel and Kate Winslet’s Clementine, however, is never once overshadowed. Source: entertainment.timesonline.co.uk ...

... The list is alive! From the Times Online, UK. This is a very Brit-centric list — it’s therefore laughable, really, but hey – we take what we can get this time of year. ...

... of them (one thanks to Adrian Curry). The UK Times Online made their 100 Best Films of the Noughties, as per UK release, with some surprising and frankly unfortunate choices. Any list that includes Paul Haggis' Crash is automatically tossed in the bin for me... even if Michael Haneke's Caché does top the list. Their list is predictably UK-biased, though the only British-helmed films whose placements I can get down with are the two Bourne films. You can read the entire list here, but below you'll find their top 20: ...
Awards Daily Top 100 of the ’00’s Project
Awards Daily —
The week the Times UK and The Telegraph both put together controversial lists of the Top 100 films of the decade. A worthy undertaking with interesting, if Brit-centric, results. I think we could assemble an alternative Awards Daily Top 100 of ’00’s that would beat both those two all to hell. The question is, with that many titles to wrangle, not sure how best to go about it in a way that’s manageable.
Suppose we start out a year at time — maybe do a poll of the top 12 or 15 films from each of the past 10 years ...
100 Best Movies of the Decade?
At The Movies - Film News and Reviews —
... It’s that time of year when you start to see “best of the year” lists. This time, though, there’s a twist–you’re going to start seeing “best of the decade” lists (if you are someone who believes the new decade begins in 2011, get ready to bang your head against a wall a lot for, oh, say, the next year). Our first contender is the Times of London’s 100 Best Movies of the Decade list. Take a look at their top ten: ...
Top 10 of the Decade List Time: Surfing the Zeitgeist.
IFC: Indie Eye —
... Welcome to the end of the decade (unless you're one of those "decades start in the year one, not zero" cranks). More specifically, welcome to the end of the decade as seen by every publication wanting to list the aughts' best films. The rundown from the UK's The Times is a peculiarly schizophrenic juxtaposition of highbrow, middlebrow and pop hits: it's probably the only list you'll see "L'Enfant," "There Will Be Blood" and "Anchorman" placed in sequence. Number two is the duo of "The Bourne Ultimatum"/"The Bourne Supremacy"; number one is "Caché." ...

The Times Top 100 of the Decade & Caché
Strange Culture —
Call me patient, but I don't understand the rush to release the Top 100 films of the decade, but the UK paper The Times decided to do just that. Of course, list of this nature are just to spur controversy, discussion, and awareness, and the number one film of the decade selected by the times was the 2005 Michael Haneke film Caché. If you've seen the french-language film Caché (hidden), you will immediately be able to identify the picture posted above. The plot of this horror-esque film is based upon a family who ...
