The New York Giants shocked the world last night as the underdogs beat the favored new England Patriots 17-14 in Super Bowl XVII, and Eli Manning kept the Super bowl MVP in the family, making it the first Super bowl in a few years that I wasn’t just sitting around waiting on the commercials. So what about the commercials this year? Did they measure up to the hype. I, for one, think not.Amber Lee: Obama Girl Does Maxim, Hosts Super Bowl Ads Winners

Hey gang! We'll be back tomorrow with our usual antics. Right now we're fighting off the hangover from the mix of Busch Light and Boone's Farm (mixed in with Cheetos) as well as the state of shock of the Giants victory at the Super Bowl. The best part of the game last night was when Patriots Coach Bilichick pulled up his diaper and walked off the field like a coward with :02 seconds left. ...Brought To You By ...

Every year, ad agencies pour ungodly amounts of cash into Super Bowl advertising, and every year, with renewed faux-enthusiasm, non-sports fans, random local news "advertising" correspondants, and pointlessly nostalgic websites end up complaining about "how crappy the Super Bowl ads were this year." One of the most tired rounds of hype in television centers on Super Bowl ads. Studies may show that sizable numbers of viewers only want to see the commercials (and I'm still waiting to see those numbers).
