Cannes. Linha de passe.
Published 5/17/2008 at GreenCine Daily
"Twelve years after co-directing Foreign Land, filmmakers Walter Salles and Daniela Thomas have returned to update their portrait of urban Brazil, which they left in the economic throes of president Fernando Collor," writes Deborah Young in the Hollywood Reporter.
"Linha de passe is a far more successful film, both as a drama and in depicting the reality of growing up poor without no future in sight.... Comparisons to Luchino Visconti's Rocco and His Brothers ...

Indiana Jones and the Really, Really Mixed Reviews
Published 5/19/2008 by Kirsten Anderson at At The Movies - Film News and Reviews
Reviews? Indiana Jones doesn’t need reviews.
So Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull opened at Cannes on Sunday and the reception was…well, it depends on who you ask.
Variety’s Todd McCarthy thought it was good, not great, but sure to be a crowd-pleaser, saying:
“One of the most eagerly and long-awaited series follow-ups in screen history delivers the goods — not those of the still first-rate original, 1981’s “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” but those of its uneven two successors.”
He basically says it has a slam bang opening that shows Spielberg’s enthusiasm ...
Cate Blanchett At The Indiana Jones Premiere, Cannes-Style
Published 5/19/2008 by Cee See at Hollywood Offender
Ho_cate_blanchett Can you believe Cate Blanchett had a baby a mere 5 weeks ago? I'm caught being being in awe and being so overcome with envy that I want to hate her for looking this good. But I can't hate her BECAUSE she looks so good. This woman is a sly one... So Cate's in Cannes, joined by co-stars Harrison Ford , Karen Allen , and Shia LeBeouf --and director Steven Spielberg and producer George Lucas --for the premiere of the long-awaited "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ." Terrible title. Far too long. Then, again, I must confess, I'm not a big fan of these movies. I know, blasphemy! I usually only admit such atrocities when I've been ...

Press review of Indy arent all favorable..
Published 5/19/2008 by Scott at We Are Movie Geeks
Our own Ram Man has seen the movie and loved it, however not everyone is on board with this revival. Check out snippets of other reviews below:
“This is the Indiana Movie that you were dreading,” wrote a user who calls himself ShogunMaster. “I remember seeing the two trailers and though I was excited to see the old man in action again, I was kind of worried that they seemed to be missing ’something’. That something was tension. During the whole of the movie, there was not a single moment that I thought our hero Mr. Jones (actually Colonel Jones as he was a hero in WWII now) was in any sort of peril or even significant inconvenience. In ...
Cálido beso de Angelina Jolie a esposa de Clint Eastwood
Published 5/20/2008 by Blogdelatele (noreply@blogger.com) at Blog de la Tele

Hey guys, Let me say that GreenCine Daily offers the best coverage on films on the web bar none, and no, they didn’t pay me to say that. I receive their daily e-mail updates, which you can also get for free by signing up here. I’ve said before that one major problem I’ve noticed in some aspiring screenwriters I’ve encountered over the years is that they’re limiting their vision by ONLY hanging out with other screenwriters and by ONLY reading screenwriting books and screenwriting magazines. You hurt yourself and your creativity by limiting the information you get ...
Cannes. The Headless Woman.
Published 5/21/2008 at GreenCine Daily
"Argentinian director Lucrecia Martel is nothing if not subtle," writes Peter Brunette in the Hollywood Reporter.
"She is also a master of visual and aural technique, which is on full and splendid display in La Mujer Sin Cabeza (The Headless Woman), her third feature. The problem is that, as with La Cienaga and La Nina Santa, her narratives can be maddeningly slight, causing the viewer to struggle to comprehend even basic character relationships or motivations. It's difficult ...
