You can't look at this story without the issue of age coming to mind. Youth in media is more prominent than ever before. Although usually not as much an issue for men as for women, it is obvious that this is the reason for what is happening with Leno. Johnny Carson didn't retire until he was 66. That wouldn't happen today. Jay Leno is 58. Conan O'Brien is only 45.
