Cinema Blend is reporting that Tom Cruise is currently in talks to voice the villain in Shrek Goes Fourth, which will supposedly reveal Shrek's origin and how he came to live at the swamp. Mike Mitchell will be directing the film. Mitchell is know to be a Tom Cruise fan and has worked with fellow Scientologist Kelly Preston in Sky High. None of this news has been confirmed, but with Cruise's recent appreance in Tropic Thunder as well as some other unexpected projects he's working on, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise for him to accept a role in Shrek 4 as part of his career makeover.
