Diesel has been talking up a third Riddick film for some time now. In March 2006 he sad a storyline had already been written for a third film in which Riddick would enter The Underverse. Diesel spoke with MTV recently and told them that he is indeed already working on making two more Chronicles of Riddick movies. When that film hit in 2004, it was setup to be a trilogy, but it had a poor run at the box office and now its been 4 years since we've even heard it mentioned again. ... I'm for it, as long as Twohy address the hella confusing mythology that revolved around the Necromongers. I loved the Underverse, but I didn't really understand where they were going with the whole undead alien race who can die. Last we left off, Riddick was running the show as ruler of the Necromongers, or at least one shipfull. [MTV] ...

... here... Did I miss something, or did THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK make a killing on DVD? I know the RIDDICK video game is considered one of the better movie tie-ins; did that outsell YAR'S REVENGE or something? I'm asking because Vin Diesel seems extraordinarily optimistic about the two RIDDICK sequels he's planning with writer-director David Twohy. Here's what Diesel told MTV Movies' Shawn Adler : "David Twowy right now is writing the scripts. The only question is whether we take a page from the 'Lord of the Rings' guys and try to shoot the two chapters at the same time. ...

... Diesel has officially lost his mind. Maybe its the pressure of watching his once promising career slowly spiral out of control and into a black hole. Maybe he sucked in too many exhaust fumes while shooting Fast and Furious . Whatever hes reason, the guy is clearly deluded, so deluded that he thinks there will be not one, but two sequels to The Chronicles of Riddick . Whats more, he thinks creator David Twohy is science fictions answer to Peter Jackson. The big Diesel tells MTV : David Twohy right now is writing the scripts. The only question is whether we take a ...

... that seeks to draft me as director of the next installment of the series. (It seems my old ALIEN 3 script figures into this master plan, too, in ways that aren’t entirely clear to me.) My reaction is “Hmm.” Flattering? Sure. Realistic? Not so much. See, if I’m going to spend a year of my life (and more if I write it) on the third installment of a science-fiction series, well, why wouldn’t I just do the third installment of my own science-fiction series?" ... the contrary, the series was dead. The expansive, expensive Chronicles of Riddick was trashed upon release, after all, and flopped at the box office (at least domestically). Another sequel seemed foolhardy, sure to be met with gales of laughter from the same peanut gallery that so readily dismissed Chronicles. I still think that's probably true, but I won't tell Vin Diesel, who is determined to make two more sequels happen. In an interview with MTV, he said that writer-director David Twohy is currently working on the ...

Vin Diesel wants to return to Riddick, twice …

I am a big fan of ‘Pitch Black’ and consider it one of the more enjoyable and successful sci-fi/action movies to date. I am not, however, quite as big a fan of ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’. With that said, I find myself with mixed feelings regarding this recycled news about Vin Diesel and his rekindled interest in making not one, but two more Riddick movies.
Diesel had this to say in a recent interview with MTV News:

Considering the lack of bank The Chronicles of Riddick made, I think that his claims may be a tad Riddick (ulous).
