Volkswagen has been a strong supporter of independent film through their sponsorship of film festivals and indie cinemas. The car company has produced a series of fun “See Film Differently” videos which feature film fanatics sharing their vastly different interpretations of classic movies.

It’s Easy to ‘See Films Differently’

... Too topical, too sensational and too controversial. This brought up a discussion about reading into films. First off, in no way would I ever claim that filmmakers do not intend to inject messages and metaphors into their films. I think Cloverfield’s 9/11 imagery is fairly obvious and clearly intentional. HOWEVER, I must say that my eyes have rolled on numerous occasions during discussions of phallic imagery within slasher films.
