... but already there are whispers of a sequel in response to the $50 million opening weekend notched by Timur Bekmambetov’s Hollywood filmmaking debut Wanted . The fact that the movie’s success was somewhat overshadowed by Pixar’s Wall-E has not stopping Universal from keeping the ball rolling. Wanted is essentially this year’s 300 , and I’m sure will only continue to make money throughout the summer due to strong word of mouth. Now, the interesting thing is that the folks over at Cinema Blend received an inside scoop indicating that they are actually looking to turn Wanted ...

... peers are now pretty pissed off at Wesley. Also in the mix is the uncovering the secret past of Wesley’s father, some of which may lead to the revelation that Wesley’s family has been a part of the fraternity for generations. Our scooper speculates, “Could this be the next Jason Bourne series?” If what our sources are hearing is true, that does seem to be the direction Universal Pictures is headed. Obligatory gif: Source

Even though ‘Wanted’ came in at number two at the box office this past weekend, it still did very well, so well that there’s already talk of a possible trilogy.
CinemaBlend reports that both James McAvoy and Terrence Stamp are most definitely coming back for the sequels.
Some speculates that this “could this be the next Jason Bourne series” if the idea to take Wanted international and have McAvoy’s Wesley character fighting Fraternity cells all over the world actually flies.

In other "please dear god why is this being movie being made" news, the word on the street is Sony is already gearing up for Hancock number two. Still, the rumor has it Will Smith didn't actually like the first film, and he won't be back for a second outing unless he gets some sort of creative control over the next flick.
