Watch three new clips from ‘The Rocker’
Published 7/8/2008 by Franck Tabouring at The Screening Log
... a comedy about a failed drummer who gets a second shot at fame when he joins his nephew’s high school rock band.
Yahoo! posted three new clips from the upcoming film, which you can see below. Two of them are merely extensions of scenes already seen in the trailer, but they’re quite funny. Oh, and you get to see Wilson playing the drums naked. Not that it’s necessarily what you want to see, but I’d thought I’d warn you. Enjoy!

In light of Cynthia Rodriguez’s shopping spree, here’s Blu Cantrell doing “Hit ‘Em Up Style” from 2001. (There might be a commercial ahead of the video. Sorry but this is only embeddable version I could find:)

Hello to Patty Smyth and Scandal again!!!
Published 7/10/2008 by SeriouslyOMGWTF at Seriously? OMG! WTF?
Patty Smyth and Scandal will be Warriors in the recording studio again according to Billboard. Although the band have performed together a few times in the last four years, they have not recorded together since ‘84 so it will be nice to see what new tunes they can come up with for the new millennium. Patty Smyth is definitely loving it, “We’re kicking ass and blowing minds out there,” says Smyth. “I’ve never had more fun.” ...

Our quick thoughts: Jaume Balaguero’s horror thriller “[Rec]” hasn’t even screened in the United States yet, but Hollywood is ready to roll out the remake “Quarantine,” which opens nationwide Oct. 10, 2008. A new full trailer popped up over at Yahoo!, and you can check it out just above.

... good watching Will Ferrell taking a break from silly sports comedies. This time, he teams up with John C. Reilly to play two spoiled guys who become highly competitive stepbrothers.
Earlier today, Yahoo! Movies premiered a new clip from the film, which you can check out below. It’s merely an extension of a scene from the trailer, but I think it’s pretty hilarious. “Step Brothers” opens July 25, 2008. Judd Apatow is producing.

Trailer for ‘The Family That Preys’ now online
Published 7/12/2008 by Franck Tabouring at The Screening Log
Tyler Perry’s “The Family That Preys” just received a first official trailer over at Yahoo! Movies, and you can check it out just above. In a nutshell, the film centers on two very different families learning to work together. Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard, KaDee Strickland, Sebastian Siegel and Tyler Perry star.
There’s not that much to say about the trailer except that it promises the usual Tyler Perry family drama and romance, and that’s fine with me as long as he manages to inject his ...

... to release some more promotional material for the film. Just a couple of days after premiering an exclusive clip from the upcoming flick starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, Yahoo! Movies now added four more clips.
As you can see below, these short clips are merely extensions of some scenes we’ve already seen in the trailer. The plot centers on two spoiled adults who involuntarily become highly competitive stepbrothers. Enjoy!
New ‘The Spirit’ trailer debuts on web
Published 7/16/2008 by Franck Tabouring at The Screening Log
The brand-new trailer for Frank Miller’s “The Spirit” is now online, and while it still doesn’t give us much information about the plot of the film, it looks pretty interesting. Then again, I guess it’s easy to determine the main story line: Gabriel Macht’s titular character tries to hunt down the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) while a bunch of hot chicks try to either seduce or kill him.
Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johansson, Jaime King and Sarah Paulson co-star. “The Spirit” opens everywhere Dec.25, ...
Watch the ‘Man on Wire’ trailer
Published 7/16/2008 by Franck Tabouring at The Screening Log
Documentaries are a fascinating way to learn a lot more about someone or something. Okay, some documentaries are intended to deliver a certain message or reflect a personal opinion (Michael Moore, anyone?), but most of the ones I’ve seen so far taught me a lot more about a person or an event important or special enough to rouse my curiosity.
One documentary I am particularly excited about is James Marsh’s “Man on Wire,” a film about tightrope walker Philippe Petit, who performed an illegal ...

Yahoo! Movies today premiered the first teaser trailer for McG’s upcoming sci-fi action flick “Terminator Salvation,” and although it doesn’t reveal much of anything, it definitely let me wanting to see a whole lot more.
As you may know by now, the fourth installment in the popular series stars Christian Bale as John Connor, who struggles to prevent the machines from eliminating what is left of humanity. The flick also stars Anton Yelchin, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood, Helena Bonham ...

... what I gather: Bella (Kristen Stewart) is in love with Edward (Robert Pattinson), but Edward is a vampire. Edward would rather just be a mortal so that he can love up Bella, but his fellow vampires aren’t down with that. A battle ensues. It’s pretty simple. And judging from this trailer, Twilight appears to deliver a decent balance between love story and vampire-on-vampire-on-human action. Have a look for yourself below:

In a couple of weeks, after all the hype around “The Dark Knight” slowly eases off, I’m pretty sure “Twilight” will become the next most anticipated flick of the year. Yahoo! Today posted a brand-new teaser for the flick, and I’m convinced it’s going to generate some solid buzz in the coming days.

I leave you with this final Bat-video from Wizard, which is easily the funniest Bat-thing I've seen yet. I'll see you on Monday with 70% less Bat-shit, promise. Another Day, Another Flip Out From Elizabeth Hasselbeck

Today's emotional breakdown courtesy of Jesse Jackson and the N-word. It's totally unclear whether Libby is pissed that he can say the word and she can't, or if she thinks nobody can say the word, or if she just wants to be the ultimate arbiter of what's okay. I thought Whoopi did a good job of not saying, "you're an idiot, Elizabeth, that's why you can't understand this. Because you're dumb. In the head."
New 'Twilight' trailer: Love it, loathe it, or somewhere in the middle?
Published 7/18/2008 by Mandi Bierly at Entertainment Weekly's PopWatch
... Twilight (read EW's recent cover story) is clearly trying to convey that this is an action movie. Fair enough. It just makes me wonder how much time they'll be spending on the opening does he like me or hate me? tension between Edward and Bella (Kristen Stewart). I want them to torture us with it. Luckily, I also love seeing Edward in protective mode, even if evil James (Cam Gigandet) isn't freaking me out like he did in the book. Yet.

Yes, I could have embedded the cool new Watchmen trailer, but the YouTube clips I saw just didn’t do the visuals justice (watch it on Apple.com instead). And sure, I could have shared the long-awaited Twilight trailer, but it doesn’t actually look all that appealing — I know the books are popular, but the adaptation just looks like The Lost Boys meets Dawson’s Creek (if you must, view it on Yahoo!). ...
Another Look at Twilight: Are You Even More Excited? Or Deflated?
Published 7/18/2008 by BuzzSugar at BuzzSugar -- Entertainment hourly.
In my heart of hearts, I want this movie to be good. While I haven't read the books (yet!), I like vampire-y love stories as much as the next girl. And from what I've learned about the books and the author, the whole thing is pretty intriguing.
So this second look at the Twilight movie confuses me a little bit. As someone who's looking at it without the background of having read the books, the whole thing still has a made-for-TV quality about it. It isn't stirring or taunting, and the supposedly evil one is so not scary. So what's the deal? Why aren't they luring us newbies in with mystery, dread, a sense of ...

Brooke Hogan set the Women’s Lib Movement back about 100 years when she questioned why the logic of a woman running for President on last night’s episode of the VH1 reality series Brooke Knows Best.
“You know what? I am actually not that much into voting. I think it’s kinda crazy that a woman is running because I think that women deal with a lot of emotions and menopause and PMS and stuff. Like, I’m so moody all the time, I know I couldn’t be able to run a ...

JimCarrey.jpg Jim Carrey has made a return to comedy with his latest film Yes Man. He plays a guy who always says no to everything, in an effort to turn his life around he challenges himself to say yes to everything for an entire year. I've always preferred him in comedy roles so it's good to see him back. It does smack more than a little of Liar Liar, but it looks like it might be good for a laugh. Yes Man ...
Watch the First Trailer for Jim Carrey's 'Yes Man'
Published 7/23/2008 by Eric D. Snider at Cinematical
Filed under: Comedy, New Releases I know Jim Carrey's track record has a few blemishes on it, but I have a good feeling about this one. Yes Man has a simple premise -- a no-fun, take-no-chances guy decides to say yes to everything for a year -- and the trailer feels like the ol' Jim we fell in love with back in the '90s. Plus, the director is Peyton Reed, who will always hold a place in many people's hearts for Bring It On and ...
Movie Preview: Jim Carrey in Yes, Man
Published 7/23/2008 by BuzzSugar at BuzzSugar -- Entertainment hourly.
[image] Jim Carrey has made some interesting movies in recent years, and by "interesting" I mean, "I'm not jumping out of my seat to see them" ( Horton Hears a Who is the exception, of course). But lately he's been signing up for projects that seem like better, smarter choices for an actor of his talent, including Yes, Man . In the teaser trailer we are introduced to Carrey's character as a man who is a bit of nay-sayer, constantly dismissing and rejecting the opportunities that come his way. But then he learns how to say "yes," and he is suddenly free to live life to its fullest, pulling the hilarious Zooey Deschanel along with him. ...

Warner Bros has released the first movie trailer for the new Jim Carrey Comedy Yes Man. I should probably insert a snarky comment about the trajectory of Jim Carrey’s comedy career here. Our quick thoughts: I’m glad Jim Carrey finally returns to comedy in Peyton Reed’s upcoming “Yes Man,” because his shallow performance in “The Number 23” seriously left me wondering about the future of his career.
