We've got a 1940's Picture of THE MINUTEMEN from WATCHMEN - and tis exclusive for all yous!
Hey folks, Harry here in LaLaLand - I know, I know - 6 days ago I was under the knife - and now here I am after a day of air travel relaxing in my room writing a story about something awesomely geeky cool. If it helps any, I have been having a bitch of shoulder pain - damn co2 bubbles! Anyway - that's not why you're here. Zach Snyder and crew decided that the day after MEMORIAL DAY was ... [link]

A Look at the 'Watchmen' Minutemen
Published 5/27/2008 at RopeofSilicon: Latest Headlines
Just yesterday we got word of some great news concerning the "Tales of the Black Freighter," the story-within-the-story from Alan Moore's "Watchmen," and before that news is even luke warm Ain't It Cool News brings us a new pic from the flick (well, sort of). [image] The pic above is a teaser of the AICN image and it is a look at the folks that made up the Minutemen, the first team of superheroes in the world of "Watchmen." These are the folks that set the stage for the story to come and I actually think Zack Snyder went even more nostalgic than the actual comic. I mean, ...

The guys over at AICN have revealed the first old photo from 1940 of the Minutemen from the Watchmen universe. The Minutemen were a group of superheroes that was formed before the events of Watchmen, between 1939 and disbanded ten years later in 1949. Any fans of the comic will definitely appreciate the attention to detail with this photo and these superheroes. In addition to this new photo, Zack Snyder talks ...

In other news there's a new photo from the production which shows the original heroes for the Watchmen tale called the Minutemen. These guys were around before the characters we see in Watchmen, and they help to build the story of why the world is where it is and how the heroes came about, as well as the relationships and conflicts between them. You can see the full size image over at AICN which shows Silk Spectre, Nite Owl, Captain Metropolis, Mothman, Silhouette, Comedian, ...

First Look At The Watchmen’s “Minutemen”
Published 5/27/2008 by john@themovieblog.com (John Campea) at The Movie Blog
The good folks over at AICN have posted up our first look at the superhero team “The Minutemen” from the upcoming comic adaptation “Watchmen” (you can see a larger version of the pic here) I’m very apprehensive about this movie. The comic is AWESOME… but I have my doubts that the story in the comic will translate well onto the big screen. It’s a very different type of superhero comic story than your traditional fare, and I’m not convinced audiences will get it… or be attracted to it (unless ...

Two very cool new “Watchmen” tidbits today!

... Zack Snyder says his cut is approaching three hours. I say they do  Volume One and Two like “Kill Bill” and make it four or five hours total!  Here also is a photo of the Minutemen group of superheros, circa 1940. Again, like the other photos released so far, the art direction and costuming are nothing short of first rate. i’m so thankful they are keeping all periosd elements of this excellent graphic novel the same…this photo is courtesy AICN.com. here’s the Times article: ...

Old Fashioney Photo of Minutemen from 'Watchmen'

... Boys, there was an earlier team called the Minutemen that both predicted and shaped the later costumed fighters of the comic. And, again like NKotB, their outfits are retrospectively funny to look at, as evidenced from the above shot from Zack Snyder's upcoming film adaptation. I have to say, the attention to detail is pretty impressive, as is the use of his Canon Elph's sepia setting. It's nice to know that even if this is a disaster, it will be an astoundingly accurate disaster. The Minutemen from Watchmen [AICN]

Some of the heroes in the movie are newer incarnations of those who came before, while the deaths of some of these heroes are what kick off the real story in the movie. AICN has gotten their hands on an exclusive picture of the team in their heyday, featuring a ...

Watchmen Two-fecta: Minutemen Pic and Black Freighter DVD

... • AICN got the 1940 class photo of the Minutemen, the original 1940s superhero team in the universe of Watchmen, including the Comedian, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre. Their simplified outfits and out-of-shape physiques leave me feeling like they're a bit goofy. Unless director Zack Snyder is consciously trying to emulate the 1940s screen superheroes with their goofy outfits and terrible body shapes, in which case it's a great idea. He's probably doing it on purpose. So yeah, never mind. ...

More 'Watchmen' than you can handle
Published 5/28/2008 by Gary Susman at Entertainment Weekly's PopWatch
... Fortunately, it looks like Snyder is doing his best to keep the extensive backstory and sidestory material. Watchmen is set in a world that both reveres and scorns comic-book superheroes. The latter-day heroes at the story's center live their lives informed by the rich history of a previous generation of costumed crimefighters. Yesterday, the filmmakers released to Ain't It Cool News a class photo of the first-generation heroes, the Minutemen (pictured), and that single photo should be enough to whet the appetites of Watchmenologists. Not only is it faithful to similar ...
