My go-to source for all Colbert news, No Fact Zone, said they'd heard that Stephen blamed the injury on bad clams, though NFZ didn't appear to put too much stock in that story (stitches from bad clams? It sounds just a tiny big implausible).
NFZ also linked to a Colbert story at Videogum, which heard an even more shocking rumor! Which I suspect may just be a little ...
