NBC Comedy Roundup: The Office, 30 Rock and Scrubs
Published 4/11/2008 by Mike at Pop Critics - Movies|TV|Comics|Music|Reviews|Recaps
Alright, it was flat-out awesome to have NBC’s comedy powerhouses back in action last night. You know, it’s kind of funny to think about how Thursday night’s used to be Must See TV with Friends, Seinfeld, Will and Grace, etc., on NBC, and then those shows went off the air and we all yawned.
Well, NBC is back. I know I don’t watch My Name is Earl, but others do and find it funny, so the fact that they have four popular comedies on in a row is pretty amazing.
The Office was hilarious ...
So, How Long Before Ben Silverman Green-lights ‘MILF Island’?
Published 4/11/2008 at Vulture
The centerpiece of last night's excellent new episode of 30 Rock was MILF Island, the only fake NBC reality show starring twenty hot moms competing for the affections of 50 eighth-grade boys through a series of physical challenges, most of which happen in showers ("Deborah and Sara are ...
MILF Island [Video]

On last night's season premiere of Tina Fey's brilliant 30 Rock, Alec Baldwin's Jack is riding high on the huge success of a new reality show. MILF Island's conceit: "20 MILFs; 50 eighth-grade boys; no rules." The idea, which Baldwin's GE executive had floated in an earlier episode, is so preposterous, so outrageous, that I thought for a second that it was a real show. In this late phase of reality television, in which VH1 picks up a bisexual dating game with a Myspace star, the more baroque the premise, the more plausible it appears. After the jump, the full episode from 30 ...

Will it happen? Is Deborah a prime time TV star? Can she sing? You know, before MILF Island she was just a struggling actress looking for her big break.
And, she does an Indian cab driver impression. It should be some show that Liz needs to write for the

Jack Is Back (/More Obnoxious NBC Thursday Coverage)
Published 4/14/2008 by Brinson at Brahsome - Care To Get Nice?
At first glance, this would seem like a Jack Bauer post. After all, when I think about someone storming back, if that person is named Jack, well it’s usually Bauer-Hour. But for whatever reason, Fox doesn’t want to let us know when 24 is coming back. The writers’ strike has been over, and we need our television — it’s a long summer ahead. But no, we haven’t gotten any Bauer yet and I’m not sure when we will. Instead though, we have gotten some 30 Rock, as Kigh mentioned on Friday. That’s right; NBC owns Thursday nights like no one else. Now, I, like an ...
Watch '30 Rock,' from EW's New Classics Collection
Published 6/27/2008 by Gary Susman at Entertainment Weekly's PopWatch
Few comedies anymore know how to build a gag over an entire episode, much less an entire season. The "MILF Island" episode of 30 Rock, which you can watch in full below, takes a throwaway gag from last fall's season 2 premiere and develops it into an entire episode. (Viva DeBorah!) The delightfully absurd result is one reason ...
