Movie Preview: Amelia
BuzzSugar —
From the time it was first announced last year, everything about Amelia, the Amelia Earhart biopic, has sounded good to me: the subject matter, Mira Nair as the director, Hilary Swank in the title role. Today, the first trailer for the film is out, and it's only increasing my excitement.
Like all of ...
Trailer for Hilary Swank-Starring 'Amelia' Takes Flight
Aceshowbiz.com - Entertainment News —
Fox Searchlight Pictures have released the first trailer for Mira Nair's biopic drama about legendary aviatrix Amelia Earhart. First real look into Amelia Earhart's biopic, " Amelia ", emerges for viewing pleasure through its brand new trailer. Providing an idea of how the drama movie will look like, this promotional video also presents Hilary Swank as Amelia, Richard Gere as Amelia's husband, George P. Putnam, and Ewan McGregor as Amelia's lover, Gene Vidal. Kicked off with a shot of a muscular plane flying over a terrain, the trailer continues to expose Amelia, her dream of going to strange, faraway ...
Amelia's Finally Arrived
Tapeworthy —
The trailer's out. Finally! Amelia opens on Oct. 23rd 2009. Starring Hillary Swank, Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor, Virginia Madsen, and Christopher Eccleston. It'll probably be another typical biopic but at least it LOOKS great doesn't it? And will the Academy throw Hillary another nomination? This is one of those movies the Academy USED TO love and smother in awards but nowadays, I think they're tending to go a bit more indie. But who knows, with the new 10 nomination system, old hats could slip through (and doesn't that vintage ...
Let’s Hope ‘Amelia’ Has a Twist Ending
Unrealitymag —
Here’s the trailer for Hilary Swank’s blatantly award-baiting movie, Amelia, which yes, chronicles the story of the doomed pilot who tried to fly around the world and ended up one of history’s greatest mysteries when she disappeared without a trace.
While all indications point to the likely fact that she crashed somewhere in the ocean and it’s really damn hard to find a tiny plane in a million square miles of water, I suppose it’s possible she was abducted by aliens or eaten by a Kraken, which ...
trailer break: ‘Amelia’
FlickFilosopher.com —
I mentioned the fact that this trailer had debuted in my “The Week in Women” column on Friday, because it’s gonna be (I hope, pretty please) an important film about a woman who hasn’t gotten anywhere near the treatment in movies that she deserves, and probably would have gotten if she’d been a man. Amelia Earhart deserves to be more than a joke in a Night at the Museum movie, even if that means we get to see Amy Adams being adorably spunky. Plus, Hilary Swank rocks. Plus, the film is directed by Mira Nair, who also rocks. So, you know, this is clearly a milestone for feminism and a harbinger of the better, more equitable ...
Hilary Swank on how she hangs around naked with her boyfriend’s 6-year-old son
Cele|bitchy —
Hilary Swank’s promotional duties are just starting up for the October 23rd release of Amelia, a film based on the life of Amelia Earhart. I have to say, this film looks good. It even has supporting parts played by Richard Gere and Ewan “Dirty Hot Costume Drama Bastard” McGregor. Oh, and Cherry Jones is in it too! She’s one of my girl-crushes. Anyway, despite the fact that movie looks interesting, you know what doesn’t look good? This Marie Claire cover. It’s not that Hilary looks ugly or anything - she doesn’t at all. It’s just her expression. Like the caught her mid-sentence ...
