Radiohead Remixed With Obsolete Computer Gear
Published 6/6/2008 by synthhead at Synthtopia
This is a rather amazing lo-fi remix of Radiohead’s Nude. Here’s the scoop on it:
Radiohead held an online contest to remix “Nude” from their album - “In Rainbows” This was quite a difficult task for all the electronic musicians that entered, as Nude is in 6/8 timing, and 63bpm. Most music that’s played in clubs is around 120bpm and usually 4/4 timing. It’s near impossible to mix a waltz beat into a DJ set.
This resulted in lots of generic entries consisting of a typical 4/4 beat, but with arbitrary clips ...
big ideas (don't get any)

Here's Radiohead's "Nude," recreated with a bunch of obsolete computer gear. As the video's creator James Houston puts it, "It doesn't sound great, as it's not supposed to," but it's still pretty awesome (even the band calls it "brilliant"): (via Dead Air Space and every nerdy tech site in existence)

Awesome Music Video: Radiohead - “Nude” (Fan Made)
Published 6/8/2008 by Jay C. at Film Junk
I remember hearing about some contest in which Radiohead fans were encouraged to remix their song Nude. Is that what the contest was? I don’t know, something like that. Either way, below is an insanely cool cover of the song using only out-of-date computer gear. Creator James Houston has assembled a motley crew of colourfully clunky and noisey computer parts to twitch and beep the rythm and melody of the song, with great success I might add. It sounds cool (haven’t heard the original) and looks appropriately retro. Here’s a list of the gear according to Houston’s vimeo page ...
Radiohead - Nude (James Hudson remix)
Published 6/9/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (Christian Korsager) at DoCopenhagen
Radiohead recently held a remix competition, where you should remix "Nude" from their latest album. This is James Hudson's brilliant version: Big Ideas (don't get any) from James Houston on Vimeo. "Based on the lyric (and alternate title) "Big Ideas: Don't get any" I grouped together a collection of old redundant hardware, and placed them in a situation where they're trying their best to do something that they're not exactly designed to do, and not quite getting there. It doesn't sound great, as it's not ...
Radiohead Unveil "Supercollider," Portishead Cover

Radiohead Unveil "Supercollider," Portishead Cover thumbnail icon: Radiohead Unveil "Supercollider," Portishead Cover Ateaseweb.com's been closely following all that's going with Radiohead, because that is what they do. A few weeks ago the site reported the band's been tinkering with a new tune during soundcheck, and yes now a new song's in the setlist. It's called "Super Collider." Dublin got the first performance of it on Friday night: Thom solo, soulful vocal overtop a central, major-key piano figure (a quick flip to a descending minor thing and a bridge, too). Also, as for the Single Song Eliciting Multiple Instances Of ...

Radiohead's 'Nude' played with really old computer parts Posted Wednesday, June 18, 2008 @ 06:17 in Music by Som Khamsaysoury Big Ideas (don't get any) from James Houston on Vimeo . A couple of weeks ago Radiohead held a competition where folks can remix the song "Nude" off of their latest album In Rainbows , which seemingly sparked a light bulb above James Houston's head. A student of the Glasgow School of Art, Houston basically took the concept to a new level by remixing the track using nothing but dated computer parts. Unfortunately, the dude missed the deadline for the contest, but it's still ...

Props to EBoz for the link, because this is pretty awesome. It was created by James Houston, a student at Glasgow School of Arts.
I’ll let Mr. Houston explain it.
I’m a student graduating from the Glasgow School of Art’s visual communication course in a few days. This is my final project.
