MTV has relased two promotional comedy videos featuring Britney Spears and Russel Brand to promote 2008 Video Music Awards. 2008 MTV Video Music Awards commercial tapes in which pop singer Britney Spears and a British comedian Russell Brand team up finally come out. They are shot sitting on a black couch inside a huge building with a high roof. The video is plotted in a series of comedy situation with an elephant behind them. The set has then made some saying that the elephant is actually used as a reminder for the singer's disastrous performance last year in which she performed a lip sync show in a tight costume, showing her out-of-shape figure. Here is the other of the “elephant in the room” promos Britney shot with British comedian Russell Brand for the MTV Video Music Awards. And as you can see, she does not play the part of the elephant. Apparently the execs at MTV wanted the lumbering land mammal in the commercial to have an actual trunk. Those head honcho-types can be so picky!

Britney Spears NEW YORK (AP) - Britney Spears may get a shot at redemption during this year's MTV Video Music Awards. Widely panned for her glazed-over performance at last year's show, Spears is now in negotiations with MTV to make an appearance at the Sept. 7 ceremony, a spokesperson for MTV said Tuesday.
