Hillary Clinton Lies
Published 3/25/2008 by Dave and Thomas at Dave And Thomas Daily Timekillers
Hillary Clinton ducks from sniper fire. Listening to Hillary Clinton retell her visit to Bosnia in 1996 you would think she was lucky to be alive today. A few weeks back Hillary claimed she was dodging sniper fire and various other horrific tales of war when she visited the war-torn land under her husband's term. Problem is that no one else on the trip quite remembers it the way Hillary does. Also on the trip were musician Sheryl Crow and comedian Sinbad. Wow! How long ago was this? Sinbad? He must have been riding high on his success from his role in Necessary ...

Eclipse Series 8: Lubitsch Musicals (The Criterion Collection, 2.12.2008) Fans of classical Hollywood comedy appropriately revere Ernst Lubitsch as one of the greatest and most influential comic directors of all time. Billy Wilder had a sign in his office that asked "what would Lubitsch do?" and, while Lubitsch's influence isn't always evident in today's comedies, few of the great Hollywood comedies of recent decades would have been possible without the Lubitsch-influenced work of Wilder. Familiar with Lubitsch's numerous comedy classics ( Ninotchka , Trouble in Paradise , and The Shop Around the Corner , to name just three), some might wonder why they'd ...

Hillary's Memory Fails, Disserves
Published 3/25/2008 at Radar: Fresh Intelligence Blog
It was just her imagination : After reporting that she'd had to land "under sniper fire" and "run with her head down to get to the vehicle" on a trip to Bosnia in 1996, CBS video surfaces showing that Hillary Clinton might have been exaggerating just a bit. Or a lot . No apologies : James Carville made no apologies on CNN Monday for his " Bill Richardson -Judas" comparison . "I doubt if Governor Richardson and I will be particularly close in the future," the Clinton buddy said because he's sassy like that. Other Clinton staffers have made efforts to distance themselves from Carville's spicy cajun sauce. DAMN! ...
CBS Outs Hillary Clinton as Maker of Stuff Up
Published 3/25/2008 by david at Jossip
See that pool of photographers on top of that truck? And the ones on the ground? They must’ve slipped Hillary Clinton’s mind — unless she actually thought her version of events during a 1996 trip to Bosnia wouldn’t be contested by the hundreds of photos snapped and video footage shot during her visit.
In Clinton’s recollection, her visit to Bosnia involved an arrival where she had to run from the plane with her head ducked to avoid gunfire. “I remember landing under sniper fire. There was no greeting ceremony. We basically were told to run to our cars. That is what happened.”
Except that ...
VIDEO: CLINTON RETRACTS BOSNIA CLAIM
Published 3/25/2008 by J. Dakar at CONCRETELOOP.COM
Sen. Hillary Clinton was forced to retract a claim that she landed under sniper fire during a trip to Bosnia in 1996.
In a speech earlier this month at George Washington University, Clinton said:
“I remember landing under sniper fire. There ...
She's Running Now, but Not Then

Hillary Clinton says when she and Chels visited Bosnia in 1996, sniper fire forced them to duck and run for cover. But the videotape brought out of mothballs by CBS tells a different tale. On the positive side, we like Hill's '96 pageboy way better than her current dykey 'do.
My latest Clinton conspiracy theory
Published 3/25/2008 at Radosh.net
Watch today's CBS News report with the sound off (as I have been in The Week's offices all day). After all, everyone knows that in our postmodern campaign, images count more than words.
What do you see? Hillary Clinton looking presidential and pro-military. If the Clinton campaign had called CBS News and said, "Can you run that footage of me in Bosnia from 1996 over and over again -- and provide it to every other network too," they would have laughed in her face. And yet because of one "misstatement," that's exactly what's happening. The girl even looks a little like Kirsten Dunst. ...

Well, in case you haven't heard Senator Hillary Clinton claimed she was a regular a La Femme Nikita and was under "sniper fire" during a 1996 trip to Bosnia. In reality, there were no gun shots and she was accompanied by her daughter, the comedian Sinbad and rock ân roll chick Sheryl Crow . CBS discovered this news and the footage, showing Missy Hill emoting in a seaweed green trench coat, her classic â90âs helmet bob and greeting children. Hell, I've been in more danger walking through "Washington Heights -- Bring A Knife" after midnight! From the beginning, the New York Senator has been overstating her position as First Lady like Beyonce âs ...
Michael Shaw: Reading The Pictures: The Dynamics Of Tuzla
Published 3/26/2008 by Michael Shaw at Huffington Post Entertainment Blog
Obviously, visuals can be highly damaging to a candidate, such as the mild images of Hillary at the Tuzla airport after she spoke of being greeted by gunfire. However, we don't often break down why. In this case:
1. The latter shot evokes the image of the threatened young children asleep in Clinton's 3AM "Who Can You Rely On?" ad. What the Tuzla imbroglio does is to raise the question whether Hillary -- upon receipt of that 3 AM call -- wouldn't have trouble accurately interpreting the level of danger to these young innocents.
2. These pictures uncover something of a paranoid streak. The "dramatically ...
CHANGE? As Obama & Clinton Fight it out the Pastor Disaster, Memory-gate and Tax Return-gate … John McCain Prospers
Published 3/26/2008 by Scared Monkeys at Scared Monkeys
The Democrats have some serious truth issues …
The story of the Barack Obama and Reverend Wright known as the Pastor Disaster will not go away any time soon. Why should it? Obama has a 20 year relationship with Reverend Wright, to suggest that Wright’s comments were isolated would be to flat out lie. However, instead of taking on the difficult situation head on which would be “Presidential”. Instead Obama and his wife fled to the Virgin Islands away from the fire storm. Or so they thought. This is hardly the acts of an un-TYPICAL politician and a candidate of ...
Hillary Clinton's Bosnian "Memory Slip" Wasn't a Surprise to Reporters
Published 3/26/2008 by david at Jossip
That Hillary Clinton didn’t really have to flee sniper fire on her trip to Bosnia didn’t surprise most in the press corps. After all, more than a few of them accompanied her, and Sinbad and Sheryl Crow, on that 1996 trip when she was First Lady, and themselves witnessed the gunfire-free arrival and photo taking that must have slipped Hillary’s mind. And even if they didn’t, there were plenty of newspaper reports they could’ve Lexis’d.
But then there are folks like NBC’s Andrea Mitchell, now wo-manning an afternoon MSNBC show, who claims to remember a different version of events … ...
Hillary Clinton comes under sniper fire, still makes Sheryl Crow concert.
Published 3/27/2008 by celebfan at Celebrity Rumors, Gossip, photos & news
Hillary Clinton got caught in a pretty absurd lie of grandiose proportions. On a 1996 trip to Bosnia as First Lady, she claimed she got off of the plane and immediately came under sniper fire. She was “ducking her head” and all sorts of madness.
Problem is CBS was there. And filming.
So if by sniper fire she means, hugging kids and watching a Sheryl Crow video, then I guess she is right.

Why Did It Take Sinbad to Expose Hillary Clinton's Bosnia "Misstatement"?

As I've been watching coverage of Hillary Clinton's attempt to explain why she characterized a visit to Bosnia years ago as much more dangerous than it actually was, I've been struck by network reporters' attempts to insert themselves into the story.
Both CBS's Sharyl Attkison and NBC's Andrea Mitchell have pointed out ...

Over the course of this past week I found Kinetic (or Kinematic) Typography and love it, updated my PS3 and saw one of the sickest movie trailers ever. However, that's not all that happened... that's just the tip of the ice berg. Probably the most notable news of the week is how 300,000 emails got misconstrued as 300,000 people as Star Wars fans embarrass themselves in boycotting Weinstein Co. films over a film none of them saw. That's right, it's people overreacting at their finest . There's also news that an Art House Movie may be the next spoof film as well as news on that Day the Earth Stood Still ...
Krugman Repeats Bogus Clinton Health Care Tale
Published 4/15/2008 by jbercovici at Portfolio.com: Mixed Media
Would somebody please get Paul Krugman a subscription to his own paper?
On Friday, the New York Time op-ed econ-umnist led off his column with an anecdote that Hillary Clinton has used on the campaign trail to underscore the need for universal health care. The story is about a pregnant Ohio woman named Trina Bachtel, who allegedly died after a hospital refused to see her on account of unpaid bills.
One problem: The story wasn't true -- as the Times had reported six days earlier. Not only that, but it couldn't have been true, at least not legally, since hospital are required by federal law to ...
