BET Awards ‘08 Performances! Usher opened the BET Awards ‘08 off with a couple seconds of his latest single “Moving Mountains” then went right into his hit single “Love In This Club”. Honestly, the energy on the stage could have been better. I was really hoping for a Beyonce cameo for his “Love In The Club” remix, but I was disappointment. Chris Brown was super duper adorable as he sung to Rihanna’s hit “Take A Bow”. Ne-Yo performed “Closer” from his upcoming album Year Of The Gentleman . Chris Brown performs onstage with Ciara during the 2008 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Tuesday in Los Angeles, California. As Ciara came on stage, rain came pouring down in the background as visible text and images could be seen. ‘Ciara’ and ‘Take U Down’ could be seen amidst the rain coming down behind the performers. The BET Awards were held in LA yesterday. There were plenty of high-energy performances along with awards in both music and acting categories. Kanye West took home two awards for Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Best Collaboration for “Good Life” with T-Pain. Alicia Keys was named Best Female R&B Artist while Chris Brown was the Best Ma;e R&B Artist. Missy Elliot was named best female hip hop artist and Halle Berry and Denzel Washington were best actress and actor. Usher opened up the awards with his hit “Love In This Club”. As much as I love me some Usher, for an opener his set was kind of weak. I would’ve enjoyed it better if Ursh perfomed the remix to this joint…bringing out Jeezy, T.I. and maybe even Beyonce. Now that would’ve gotten the show started right! Keyshia Cole hit the stage to perform “Heaven Sent” and “Let It Go”. I’m a Keyshia fan but seriouly this chick needs a lesson or two on how to put on a show. Keyshia on wax is hot but Keyshia on live is an absolute flop. If it wasn’t for Lil’ Kim’s barbie looking ass, Keyshia’s set would’ve really sucked. Lil’ Kim saved it. The song is definitely something new and edgier than Ciara's previous musical efforts. I do know that the video treatment for this single would be something to look forward to. Ciara's new record wouldn't be in stores until this September AND she gave her fans and critics a sneak preview of what's to come via this recent Chris Brown BET Awards performance .
