I kinda loved these commercials that aired tonight of both David Cook and David Archuleta from American Idol doing an homage to Risky Business–even though it’s an ad for Guitar Hero. Which one is your fave? The Creed-ish guyliner David: or the singing Monchhichi:

Yes, more American Idol nonsense. It won't go away!!! Last night's finale was like one, long commercial. They pushed everything from that lame Mike Myers movie to Guitar Hero . Fetus and Cook both reenacted Tommy Girl's ultra gay scene from " Risky Business" for a Guitar Hero commercial. Both of the commercials were pretty dorky, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm sure the Idol bosses put a gun to Cook's head. However, Fetus' commercial was uncomfortable to watch. That shit is just not right. They should have at least made it believable by putting him in SpongeBob SquarePants underoos. The minute Fetus came on the screen wearing ...

David Cook wins American Idol 2008! (2007 for Randy, who by the way, tonight is playing the part of Captain Kangaroo by way of Chikezie) Aww, so sweet when he won!! I even shed a tear. But then they got to the cornynation song (which was NOT the 80's movie montage song) and he had to sing about "searching for a magic rainbow." Oh dear....let's hope this isn't a taste of things to come. I'm too happy for him right now to start thinking about that crap though, so let's relive some of the highlights from last night's cheesetastic finale! Which was fucking awesome!! Good job Idol ...

Props to Activision for this TV spot last night. After watching Ford's abysmal commercials using the Idol stars all season (and David Cook is SO going to regret that Matador outfit in the coming months), this one was timely, cool, and made perfect sense.
