Syesha Mercado recently appeared on The Wendy Williams Show to promote the fast-approaching national tour of "Dreamgirls" in which she will star. Dolled up as her character Deena Jones, Syesha sang the title song "Dreamgirls" alongside the Dreams & they did a fabulous job! It's so nice seeing Syesha again... too bad this is just another show that I won't be able to check out because they aren't coming remotely near me. ...

Syesha Mercado in Dreamgirls Begins Apollo Theater Previews Tonight

The national touring company of the musical Dreamgirls, featuring Season 7 Idol, Syesha Mercado as Deena, opens in previews at the Apollo Theater in New York tonight (11/7).
The show officially opens on November 22 and will run until December 6, prior to touring the country.

Syesha Mercado Beginning “Dreamgirls” Run

On November 22, 2009, former American Idol contestant, Syesha Mercado, will be embarking on a national tour of the musical, Dreamgirls.
Syesha has been cast in the role of Deena, which was brought to the big screen by Beyonce Knowles a couple years ago. Of course, Syesha’s fellow Idol alum, Jennifer Hudson, is probably most associated with the film version since she won an Oscar for her magnificent portrayal of Effie White.
