Owen Wilson won’t do interviews or talkshows for new movie
Cele|bitchy —
Owen Wilson is not doing any interviews or going on talk shows to promote his upcoming comedy, Drillbit Taylor, which is out in the US on March 21 and features Wilson as a bodyguard to three kids who are bullied at school. Producers made the decision to let Wilson sit out all press for fear that he would get grilled about his personal life and suicide attempt last year. The official reason that Wilson isn’t promoting the film is that he’s busy filming Marley & Me with Jennifer Aniston in Miami.

An Arbitrary Guide To This Weekend’s New Releases
Hollywoodtuna —
The Easter weekend means a jump start for the three new releases, as well as the usual holiday sales boost from the extra day off. Typically that translates to more money for kid-directed fare, which means Horton Hears a Who! has a good shot of keeping the top spot.
Given Tyler Perry’s strong track record, Meet the Browns probably has the best shot of unseating Horton. Considering Why Did I Get Married? debuted at #1 despite middling reviews and a no-show from his ...
Weekend Box Office Estimates: “Horton” On Top Once Again
Hollywoodtuna —
Horton Hears a Who! heard another first-place finish this weekend, bumping its grand total up to an impressive $86 million after only two weeks. And even though Easter Sunday’s traditionally not a big movie-going holiday, the extra days off school certainly helped inflate Horton’s take.
That said, the newcomers didn’t do all that bad, as the three new wide releases took spots 2-4 (something that probably says more about the quality of the holdovers than the new releases). Hell, Under the Same Moon even snuck in at #10, and it was playing on less than ...
Weekend Box Office Estimates: “21″ Pays Off
Hollywoodtuna —
21 beat the odds, and Horton Hears a Who! to take the top spot at the box office this weekend. Its $23.7 million haul was much better than expected, as the film took advantage of an otherwise lackluster weekend at the box office. And that meant Horton stuck at #2, blowing through the $100 million mark despite four other new releases debuting Friday. Fox can thank a lack of family film competition and the few lingering Spring Breaks left for that.
And so much for that Fanboys protest we heard so much about, as Superhero Movie may ...
Weekend Box Office Estimates: “21″ Doubles Up, “Leatherheads” A Bust
Hollywoodtuna —
Ok, so maybe it’s a little unfair to call Leatherheads a bust after one below-expectations week… But the fact remains that the top spot was there for the taking, and instead the overpromoted screwball comedy was nearly overtaken by the underpromoted Nim’s Island.
So 21 sticks at #1 with a less-than-impressive $15 million, though whether that’s a true indication of its quality or just the result of poor alternatives remains questionable. Next week’s Street Kings should provide a much tougher challenge. ...
Weekend Box Office Estimates: “Prom Night” Crowned King
Hollywoodtuna —
I have to say, I’m a little surprised by the numbers this weekend. Sure, you could’ve predicted Prom Night winning the weekend, but by a full $10 million more than second-place Street Kings? I keep waiting for the pig’s blood to drop. But it seems that Prom Night’s softened PG-13 rating helped the horror movie rather than hurt it, especially with few other attractive alternatives for bored teens without access to an older sibling or a fake ID.
21 continued to perform well, sticking at #3, while Leatherheads ...
