The Hype Williams-directed video for Jay-Z's "New York, New York" (a.k.a. "Empire State of Mind" with Alicia Keys) dropped on Friday, and it's really very disappointing. It's plenty pretty, obviously, but without any semblance of a narrative and, from the looks of things, a lot of stock photographs used to fill in the gaps, it actually manages to make a pretty great song insufferably boring.
