Entertainment Tonight will be premiering the first trailer for Peter Jackson’s big screen adaptation of The Lovely Bones on Tuesday, August 4th. The trailer will be attached to Julie & Julia, which hits theaters this Friday. On Monday, ET ran one of those 30-second first look sneak previews, complete with loud blabbering annoying voice over. If it wasn’t an anticipated film, I’d tell you to skip it, but I just got done watching it three times in a row.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a little look at the THE LOVELY BONES trailer, which is supposed to be attached to JULIE & JULIA this weekend. Entertainment Tonight has the glimpse of moving footage, which looks beautiful even if it has usual ET inane drivel talking over it. They seem to think the murdered girl is "hunting her killer from beyond the grave." Um. No, not really. But whatever, it looks sharp and I love the fantasy world Jackson is creating for Susie's heaven. And if you read the book I think you'll know I'm not talking out of my ass when I say that Susan Sarandon has a great part. There might be some gold for her coming next year ...

If I pitched you a story about a girl who was murdered, then solves her own case from beyond the grave, you would probably think I was pitching you some sort of Lifetime original movie. But as it turns out, The Lovely Bones is a massively best selling book (my mom totally read it in her book club) and the movie version is being directed by Peter Jackson.

Working backwards from the end of the week to today, we know that the trailer for ‘The Lovely Bones,’ Peter Jackson’s latest film, will be attached to prints of ‘Julie & Julia’ this Friday. Anyone heading out to scope out Meryl Streep’s latest Oscar-nominated performance will have that treat before the film starts. This means that, likely, the trailer will be debuting online one day prior.
