Sandy62959 Well I doubt he is saying Religion is Bull**** now! I still can't believe that people today are still questioning faith. Is it not better to believe in something that could give you eternal life if true than to believe in nothing and find out later that Hell is worse than you heard it would be? I just don't understand that concept. But then again I have seen God work so much in my life that it is easy for me to believe. What is your purpose of exsistance if you believe in nothing? How depressing. George Carlin was nothing but a negative, hateful person spreading all that to others that are so lost and open to listening to anyone and therefore being lead in the wrong direction. People need to be more leaders and not followers. Believe in something that you see as real or has shown itself to you. Hate is only an emotion and can only destroy those that allow themselves to give into it. I pray some of these people mourning over this man will see that following him would be the wrong choice in their lives. I pray you will try to disprove God and therefore find Him instead. Believe in something greater than the emotion of hate and closed mindedness. I mourn the loss of this man's soul for his nonbelief and teachings of it and to all those that he took with him. I pray you all have blessed days and will come to know that this world is what you make of it and the choices you make will guide your life in this world and through eternity.

George Carlin dies at 71
Chortle News RSS —
Leading American comedian George Carlin has died in his Los Angeles home at the age of 71. Carlin, who performed as recently as last weekend, was admitted to hospital on Sunday afternoon complaining of chest pain. The former cocaine addict has recorded 18 albums of stand-up, was the first ever host of Saturday Night Live and now provides the voiceover for Thomas The Tank Engine in the States. But he is still best known for his controversial Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television routine. He was arrested for obscenity for performing the routine in 1972, but its later airing on a New York radio station led to a groundbreaking US Supreme Court case ...

My editorial on Mr. Carlin's passing coming up-meanwhile, this just in from the AP: Oh and I'm pushing my conservative leanings to the side on this one, Carlin like Richard Pryor was just funny-true genius. He was 71. ADVERTISEMENT Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, went into St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica on Sunday afternoon ...
George Carlin Dead at 71

The comedian died Sunday of heart failure at St. John’s Health Center. He was 71. He complained of chest pains before being admitted to the hospital, and while he had a history of heart trouble, he was well enough to perform as recently as last weekend at the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. As we send Carlin off to meet his maker, which he doesn’t really believe in, may we present an Internet-only send-off: Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, CockSucker, MotherFucker, and Tits. [AP] ...
Goodnight, George Carlin

Wow. 2008 is shaping up to be a terrible year for celebrity deaths. The last thing I expected when I turned on the news this morning, was to learn that legendary comedian George Carlin was dead.
Carlin, age 71, succumbed to heart failure on Sunday evening.
Angry, biting, but always funny — the man who hosted the very first episode of Saturday Night Live in 1975 was the consummate counterculture touring comedian. It’s one of my regrets that I never saw him perform live, although his 14 HBO comedy specials took his profane performances into homes throughout the US and around the world — including my ...

7 Moments of George Carlin Greatness [Clips]
Gawker —
When we reported on comedian George Carlin's death last night, we posted one of our favorite Carlin clips, and the commenters responded in kind. Watching the clips, posted below, one can't help but feel that the foul-mouthed, political firebrand Carlin had some hand in paving the way for other "angry" funny men like Lewis Black, Bill Maher, and even Michael Moore. An iconoclast at every opportunity, Carlin was vicious and biting but also, in some sneaky sly way, a bit kind. Enjoy that perfect, sour (and already missed) cocktail after the jump. The famous "7 Words You Can't Say on ...

And now George Carlin is gone? Damn. This is a rough month for us all. He was not a movie star, but as someone who relishes star quality wherever she finds it, the Siren has always been awed by Carlin, one of the two greatest standup comedians of all time (the other, of course, being Richard Pryor). His ...

I grew up watching this guy's specials on HBO. I had to turn off the last few of them, but whatever. That's just me being a hater. Seriously, why even point out some shit like that the day after a guy died? LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- George Carlin, the influential comedian whose routines used profanity, scatology and absurdity to point out the silliness and hypocrisy of human life, has died. He was 71.

Humor R.I.P. George Carlin georgecarlinrip_main.jpg Yesterday, we lost one of the true O.G. characters of our culture when George Carlin passed away from heart failure at the age of 71. In the world of stand-up comedians, this New York City native is one of the profession’s true icons, rivaled only by legends like Richard Pryor . Known for pushing taboo subjects and challenging societal norms, he is the reason why the FCC has so much power over the content that we hear on the airwaves today. Back in 1973, an angry father complained about Carlin’s “Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television” routine being broadcast on the radio, which ...
Cagney's Chaney Sees the Light of Day After a Decade
The Vault of Horror —
I thought I'd point out today that James Cagney's excellent Lon Chaney biopic The Man of a Thousand Faces (1957) is being released to DVD tomorrow. The late Cagney classic has been out of circulation since 1998, when it was initially released at the dawning of the digital video age. Since then, it's become very hard to come by, so if you've never seen it, nows your chance. Although in my opinion the finest leading man of the Hollywood studio era, Cagney grew weary of the endless gangster roles he was so damn good at. And so this project was close to his heart, a chance to stretch his acting chops and show moviegoers all he ...
RIP George Carlin
illRoots —
I waited way too long to post this, but I wasn’t sure how y’all would receive it. Personally I don’t give a shit how you receive it though. Carlin is my all-time favourite comedian. The thing about Carlin was, he wasn’t just a comedian, I agree with 99% of everything he said, he was a fucking genius. The most ironic thing about Shae picking this video and telling me to post it is that, religion is the one thing that I some what disagreed with George on. You will be missed George, RIP.

Fred Phelps Remembers Carlin
mediabistro.com: FishBowlLA —
Fred Phelps of godhatesfags.com fame, who's name interestingly enough - sounds like a gay sex act - is giving a send off to George Carlin the in video above. He also goes after Keith Olbermann and Jerry Seinfeld. And HBO. And America. And homosexuals. And is known best for protesting the funerals of our war dead. What a peach.
The thing with Phelps is that Carlin can match him in wits and he's been dead for two weeks.

George Carlin Last Words Legendary comedian George Carlin’s autobiography hit shelves this past week, more than a year after he kicked the bucket in June 2008 (Imagine how George would feel about the saying ‘Kick the bucket .’ He could easily get five minutes of material on that one alone). The first Amazon review of the book is by Carlin’s daughter, Kelly: 5 Stars… What can I say?, November 10, 2009 By K. Carlin “Polymind” (Los Angeles, CA USA) Okay, so I AM biased. BUT!
