Once Actress Markéta Irglová's Wonderful Oscar Acceptance Speech
Published 2/25/2008 by Alex Billington at FirstShowing.net
During the Oscars I was truly moved by seeing host Jon Stewert bring Markéta Irglová back out after she had been ushered off before giving her acceptance speech. Markéta and Glen Hansard won the Oscar for Original Song for "Falling Slowly" from Once, the one and only category that the film was nominated in, and ...

They're throwin' a few back in Dublin, right now. Sure takes the sting off of losing my office pool by one category. I don't think I've seen a sweeter Oscar moment than this. Glen Hansard: “Thanks! This is amazing. What are we doing here? This is mad. We made this film two years ago. We shot on two Handycams. It took us three weeks to make. We made it for a hundred grand. We never thought we would come ...

IMDB is running a pretty cool poll this morning and we thought it would be a great topic for discussion. Last night’s Oscar ceremony was certainly one for the books; Jon Stewart was nothing short of awesome in his second go-round as host, the surprises were welcomed ones (i.e. the stunning Marion Cotillard winning Best Actress) and there were ...
And now for the most deserving winners, and the best moment of the night, bar none:

I love them! The crowd loves them! Look how happy the audience is! Look how cute and appreciative Laura Linney is! This is like the happiest oscar moment ever. I just had to get it up here to share, before it gets taken down.
