stoney268 +1What is that pyramid doing there on the stage? Why do they always symbolicly refer to babylon? Just like Live8.... Illimunati all over it....-
Daver Google Daft Punk who are the original writes of the background song. That was them inside the pyramid.

Crazymouseexe What do you mean "what is that pyramid doing there on the stage?" It's mothafuggin Daft Punk. That's why. Have you not seen the videos of the Alive 2007 show? Watch and educate yourself.

Kanye West Performs, Pays Tribute to Donda West
Published 2/11/2008 by Free Britney at The Hollywood Gossip
While Amy Winehouse won the most awards, Kanye West may have captured the most hearts last night at the 50th annual Grammy Awards.
Following a pyrotechnic and effects-filled performance of “Stronger,” with Daft Punk accompanying him, West sang a more low-key version of “Hey Mama” in honor of late mother, Donda West, who died in November.
In the Grammy Awards’ most poignant moment, West slowly sang the words, his voice breaking at points. The rapper’s eyes were full of tears by the end. Fiancee Alexis Phifer and numerous other musicians bordered on the same.
Kanye West, who later won ...

Amy Winehouse - Know Good / Rehab [YouTube]
The 2008 Grammys wrapped-up last night with a couple standout performances, including Kanye West's Daft Punk mashup, the Foo Fighters token orchestral rock performance, and Amy Winehouse's hyped-up end of show performance of "Know Good" -> "Rehab." Most of the rest was 100% ho-hum to me. What did you guys think of the "fakeness?"

The Grammys Celebrate 50 Years

With performances by Beyonce and Tina Turner, Rihanna, Kanye's emotional tribute to his "mama," and Amy Winehouse's much-anticipated (via-satellite) performance, (not to mention her shout-out to incarcerated hubby Blake) the Grammys were definitely something to tune into last night. ...

2008 Grammy Performances
Published 2/11/2008 by Celebitchy at Cele|bitchy
Here are as many of the Grammy performances as I could find, in order as far as I can tell, thanks to Redlasso and Mahalo. My favorites were “Jungle Love” by The Time, Keely Smith and Kid Rock’s “Old Black Magic” duet, Alicia Keys’ “No One,” and Amy Winehouse. I thought that Tina Turner rocked, but I wasn’t that impressed when Beyonce joined her on stage. I am still looking for the video of Little Richard, John Fogerty and Jerry Lee Lewis playing “Coming Down The Road”, “Great Balls of Fire” and “Good Golly Miss Molly.” That had to be incredible. ...

Seriously people. I fucking wet myself when the Kanye began his performance and I saw the fucking pyramid spaceship on stage, and I officially lost my nut when this happened: I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is probably the best thing that could have ever happened to the Grammy's and the American public. Isn't this Daft Punk's first televised appearance here in the states? AHHHHHHH!!!!!! So exciting. I'm in love with those robots. Also, this whole thing just makes me need some fiber-optic clothing in my life. Enjoy the entire Daft Punk/ Kanye appearance on last ...
YouTube And The Grammys
Published 2/11/2008 by ent lawyer at Crazy Days and Nights
In the old days you would have been forced to sit through the entire Grammy show to get to the good stuff. Now, granted this years there was lots of good stuff, but there was still lots and lots of filler. With TiVo, you don't have to watch commercials, but with YouTube you don't even have to watch the show. You can just watch the performances everyone was talking about at the water cooler (line at Starbucks). The great thing is they are not usually taken down because the performances drive record sales. Here are some of the best from last night. ...

Kanye West/Daft Punk Grammy Performance

This was my favorite performance of last night’s Grammy Awards. Kanye West was brilliant, despite his battery pack falling out his jacket making him look like he had a tail. I cheered aloud too when Daft Punk emerged from the pyramid, looking like two luminescent robots! It was awesome. Kayne later sings a song for his late mother that was heartfelt and didn’t come off as being put on or forced. You can see the winners and highlights of the 2008 Grammys here ...

We on Award Tour: 2008 Grammy Awards
Published 2/12/2008 by Scooter McGavin at Scooter McGavin's 9th Green
In contrast of award shows, The Granny’s decided to kick off their fiftieth anniversary with Alicia Keys dueting with a youthful Frank Sinatra while MTV decided on their twentieth Video Music Awards to instead go with the train wreck that is Britney Spears. And this is why the Grammy’s keeps getting better and better why the VMA’s has slipped further and further since the last time Chris Rock hosted. And the Grammy’s were wise enough to stick their over hyped train wreck (i.e. Amy Winehouse) near the end of the show just in case it backfired. Here are some other thoughts from last night’s festivities: - Another ...

Daft Punk's first-ever television performance, which took place at last night's Grammy Awards, can be seen here. The group teamed up with Kanye West to perform his 2007 hit "Stronger," which samples Daft Punk's 2001 single "Harder Better Faster Stronger" from their landmark album Discovery.

BEFORE HE STOMPS: I wasn't actually around for the Grammys last night -- was on a quick trip to Chapel Hill for what ended up being one of the more extraordinary games I've ever attended, but thanks to the miracle of YouTube we can review some of last night's performances: The Time w/Rihanna. Next time, more Jerome! Carrie Underwood w/STOMP. Right now, they're probably trying to remember why they were doing it like this. Tina Turner w/Beyonce Knowles; Alicia Keys w/Undead Zombie Sinatra and interrupted by John Mayer doing "No One" -- which, seriously, of the songs from 2007 that'll last? ...

Forgetful Jones
Published 2/14/2008 by bella at afrobella
I’ve had a crazier week than normal, so I have been a bit more forgetful than usual. For example, I was on NPR’s News and Notes blogger’s roundtable on Monday, and I completely forgot to post it and let you all know. Mea culpa. Please click here if you’d like to hear my two cents about the latest Jena 6 drama, Cynthia McKinney’s indie campaign, black history month, and the Grammys.
And I must admit, I didn’t answer that last Grammy question well because I hadn’t yet seen Kanye’s performance. To be really real with you, when Farai asked me the last question I was thinking … ...
