Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates Microsoft Ad

Microsoft released their first ad co-starring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld. It’s not funny. It’s not entertaining. It’s a waste of money. Jerry got paid $10, and Microsoft plans to spend $300 million on the campaign. Jerry’s fine, but Microsoft really need to fire their ad agency and hire a new one.
Steve Jobs will always be the cooler geek Bill.

Jerry Seinfeld’s terrible Microsoft Ad
Cele|bitchy —
Jerry Seinfeld is said to have been paid around $10 million to represent Microsoft in a campaign that will cost the company $300 million. There are surely more ridiculous douche-tastic commercials coming, but this one takes the cake. Pretty much literally, considering the ending, which people on The Huffington Post are saying basically means “let them eat cake.” This commercial makes no sense, isn’t funny, and just brings it home how out of touch Microsoft is. Seinfeld isn’t funny or relevant anymore, but they figured they’d hire him and he does seem like an apt representative ...
The new Jerry Seinfeld ad for Microsoft - love it? Hate it?
Snarky Gossip —
Jerry Seinfeld is the new shill for Microsoft, in an attempt for them to be as hip and cool as the Justin Long Mac ads. Look, I love PC’s, and I run Windows, but let’s face it - Microsoft is just never going to be the hipness. It just isn’t happening. Even with Jerry Seinfeld. Watch this ad and see if you agree with me:
Yeah…..and Jerry got $30 million for this. Hmm.

Shut Up, Microsoft
Evil Beet Gossip —
Hey, you know that Microsoft commercial that they reportedly paid Jerry Seinfeld $10M to be in? It’s about shoes. And it’s stupid. Like Microsoft. I am LOVING my Mac, you guys. Soooo much better than my PCs with Windows. Like, head and shoulders above. But, anyway, if you wanna hear Microsoft’s side of the story ...
New Seinfeld Ad Draws Negative Reviews Online
Starpulse Entertainment News —
Jerry Seinfeld NEW YORK (AP) - No soup for Microsoft? The software giant's new ad starring Jerry Seinfeld has drawn largely negative reviews online after premiering Thursday night during NBC's broadcast of the National Football League's season kickoff game. The ad was the start of a highly anticipated $300 million advertising campaign that Microsoft is launching in attempt to rebuff Apple's popular TV commercials, which have portrayed Microsoft and PCs as uncool. In the commercial — which can be found at Microsoft.com and on video sharing sites — Seinfeld is walking through a mall when he spots Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates at a "Shoe Circus" ...

Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Gates Yield Stage To Real Windows Users
Starpulse Entertainment News —
Jerry Seinfeld SEATTLE (AP) - TV viewers can return to their favorite programs without fear of seeing Bill Gates shaking his tushie now that Microsoft Corp. has retired a bizarre two-week-old ad campaign featuring the software giant's chairman with comedian Jerry Seinfeld . Bloggers and online media have suggested that the Redmond, Wash.-based company yanked the Seinfeld ads after they were poorly received. The ads show Gates and Seinfeld trading banter at a mall shoe store and while living with a suburban family, trying to get in touch with regular people. Seinfeld asks Gates nonsensical questions about the future of computing, and Gates ...
Raymond Leon Roker: New Microsoft Ad: I'm a Mac, but I'm Listening
Huffington Post Entertainment Blog —
Apple has been having its way with Microsoft for a while now, but the one-sided televised fight for tastemaker supremacy has just gotten interesting. Microsoft, after taking it lying down for what seemed like an eternity, hired hotshot ad shop Crispin Porter & Bogusky (think Volkswagen, Burger King and the Truth campaign) to even out the playing field. And if this effort--light years better than the funny but predictable Seinfeld/Bill Gates spot--is an example of what's to come, it's going to be a lot harder for "I'm a Mac" to say it all.
CP&B was brought on to take a little wind out of Apple's sales (intended), but ...
