In Case You Missed It (Like Me): The Oscars!
Evil Beet Gossip — Hello. So, I have been transported to my father’s house, where, if and when I die of this cholera, at least my body will be discovered promptly. I was forcibly removed from my bed and dragged in front of a TV, where I was made to eat salmon, but successfully resisted consumption of the single piece of broccoli placed on my plate (”For,” explained my father, “presentation value,” and I expressed my gratitude at his decision to use my final moments on earth to perfect his Top Chef audition.) I survived from about Best Supporting Actor to Best Actress, which I consider quite a run for someone with late-stage cholera, and then I had to go back to bed. ...

Jon Stewart shines as Oscar host
Cele|bitchy — Well the verdict here at Celebitchy is that Jon Stewart did a fantastic job hosting the Oscars last night. His monologue was really funny. He seemed a little tense for the first minute or so, but then relaxed and fell into a very comfortable rhythm. His humor was right on the ball. He made a few strike jokes, but definitely didn’t overdo it at all. Overall, I felt his performance was very even, humorous, and well-written. He did a good job of lightly making fun of the awards. Producers had a long line of prepared montages ready in case the WGA strike didn’t end. Jon jokingly showed two of them, telling the audience, ...

Jon Stewart Rocked The OscarsThe Movie Blog
I wasn’t all that impressed with Jon Stewart as an Oscar host a couple of years ago. I love Jon Stewart, but he didn’t look all that comfortable on his first outing. When they announced that Stewart would be back as host again this year, I wasn’t thrilled. Yes, he is a HUGE step up over Ellen (what a train wreck that was), but still, he wasn’t all that great (not ...
