The Academy saluted the Honorary Chairs of this gala including Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi and actor couple Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber. Guests wandered through the Academy’s studios and classrooms, viewing and bidding on their work. It must have been a nerve wrecking day last night for Jimmy Fallon as he made his late night talk show host debut. The good news is that he had awesome guests for his first night. Justin Timberlake and Robert De Niro stopped by the show which must have made things a bit easier for Fallon. It seems like Fallon got some good reviews but naturally there was some bad ones as well. A Hollywood Reporter critic said, "He tried too hard, stumbled over his punchlines and struggled to make Robert De Niro seem interesting," who basically said that Fallon had a "typically stiff debut." This morning on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon , Justin Timberlake and Jimmy rehashed memories of an old SNL skit the two of them did about Barry Gibb from the Beegees. Justin also did a funny impression of John Mayer and his ugly singing faces (fast forward to 6:10 to see that). Apparently, Justin was asked by Bud Light to sing a jingle for their new Bud Light Lime beer, but he declined because they wouldn’t pay him enough. So Jimmy Fallon asked Justin if he would sing a Bud Light jingle as Michael McDonald (fast forward to 7:30 for that).

Oh my God! I still can’t stop cursing myself for watching this video till the end. Seriously, I braved the trying minutes only because I expected something from Robert De Niro. But... all he did was sit on the couch with huge (and open) expressions of boredom as Justin Timberlake tried to act funny with Jimmy Fallon as he premiered his late night talk show. What a waste of time! Let’s see if you can watch the whole video clip and come out with a different opinion.
