BET Awards ‘08 Performances! Usher opened the BET Awards ‘08 off with a couple seconds of his latest single “Moving Mountains” then went right into his hit single “Love In This Club”. Honestly, the energy on the stage could have been better. I was really hoping for a Beyonce cameo for his “Love In The Club” remix, but I was disappointment. Chris Brown was super duper adorable as he sung to Rihanna’s hit “Take A Bow”. Ne-Yo performed “Closer” from his upcoming album Year Of The Gentleman . The BET Awards were held in LA yesterday. There were plenty of high-energy performances along with awards in both music and acting categories. Kanye West took home two awards for Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Best Collaboration for “Good Life” with T-Pain. Alicia Keys was named Best Female R&B Artist while Chris Brown was the Best Ma;e R&B Artist. Missy Elliot was named best female hip hop artist and Halle Berry and Denzel Washington were best actress and actor. Usher opened up the awards with his hit “Love In This Club”. As much as I love me some Usher, for an opener his set was kind of weak. I would’ve enjoyed it better if Ursh perfomed the remix to this joint…bringing out Jeezy, T.I. and maybe even Beyonce. Now that would’ve gotten the show started right! Keyshia Cole hit the stage to perform “Heaven Sent” and “Let It Go”. I’m a Keyshia fan but seriouly this chick needs a lesson or two on how to put on a show. Keyshia on wax is hot but Keyshia on live is an absolute flop. If it wasn’t for Lil’ Kim’s barbie looking ass, Keyshia’s set would’ve really sucked. Lil’ Kim saved it. First, Usher has lost it. I didn't like not 1 thing about his performance. He lip synced the entire thing, so NOT sexy. He was off during the entire choreography, and at the end when they did the close-up he didn't even look like he was going to make it til the end. I don't know if the boy is out of shape or just getting old but not one thing about his performance was reminiscent of MJ when he was that age and that's who he aspires to be. ...
