Lou Reed & Moby @ FADER Fort, SXSW 2008 (Nathan Malone)
SXSW's keynote speaker wasn't scheduled to play this week, save in spirit at a multi-artist Lou Reed tribute on Thursday at the Levis/Fader Fort. Among the many highlights was a set from singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur, who did a slow, woozy ''Pale Blue Eyes'' (while wearing a pale blue suit) and turned ''Venus in Furs'' into a bluesy Dust Bowl ballad. Thurston Moore tore through the recently-rediscovered Velvet Underground song ''I'm Not a Young Man Anymore'' with the New Wave Bandits, a kick-ass, ...
SXSW 2008 Recap : Sisters at The Dizzy Rooster and Lou Reed at The FADER Fort

I didn't really get into the photographing and video-taking mood at SXSW until Friday at Hot Freaks!. Looking back, I could've filmed some great shows, but I'm not sure I would have enjoyed them as much if I had. Video of the Day: Lou Reed and Moby Lovefest in Austin
Published 3/17/2008 by Jen Carlson at Gothamist
Two of the more recognizable New Yorkers down in Austin last week for SXSW were Lou Reed and Moby. During a tribute show for...himself, Reed showed up for a 7-minute encore of "Walk on the Wilde Side," which can be seen below.
The two (along with David Byrne) will also be seen together tomorrow night at the Speak Up! concert in DUMBO...but will they still be feeling the love? The crooner kissed Moby not once, but twice in the above video!
