Pop superstar Madonna held an intimate concert for 2,200 of her fans in New York's Roseland Ballroom yesterday night. During her 30 minute set, the 49 year old performed material from her new LP 'Hard Candy' (which is set to debut at #1 with predicted sales of 300,000) as well as songs from her back-catalogue. Madonna performed a special concert Wednesday night at New York City's Roseland Ballroom to promote her new album, "Hard Candy". 1000 contest winners were given tickets by local radio stations and another 200 tickets were given to some of her fan club members. For the rest of the tickets, they were on a first come, first serve basis on the day of the show with thousands of fans lining up and camping out 60 hours before the show. [thanks to mark and michelle for the pics (yeah, i forgot my camera that night!)] THIS was the showcase of the season to go to and by some miraculous fate (and some serious grovelling), i managed to get into the madonna hard candy showcase at roseland last wednesday. fans had been lining up overnight to get one of the many wristbands to fill up the 3000 spots allocated to diehards, worldwide contest winners, label folks and 'press' like me. after going through 2 rounds of name checking, i was finally in the building and ready for a special night. bumping into a few friends (equally connected ...
