Video: MGMT: "The Youth"
Published 10/10/2008 by Marc Hogan at Pitchfork Media - Today
MGMT were the ones role-playing on Oracular Spectacular highlight "Time to Pretend", self-awarely sending up the same rockstar dreams that Oasis made true for themselves on Definitely Maybe's "Rock 'n' Roll Star". The video for "The Youth", also from Oracular Spectacular, reassigns the role-playing to, well, actual youths-- youths of America, one assumes. Directed by Eric Wareheim from Adult Swim's "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!", the clip shows ...

Eric Wareheim Makes MGMT A Video For "The Youth" thumbnail icon: Eric Wareheim Makes MGMT A Video For "The Youth" Obviously you guys all own the Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! Season One DVD , so you're as excited as we are about these videos the guys have been making lately. They don't star in "The Youth" unfortunately (that's a right reserved to Ben Folds , here Eric just takes a directing credit), but it does blend their typically awesome, great production style with MGMT's fashion sense, bringing a quartet of choreographed kids to Casey and His Brother's set (I think). Also, much more SFW ...

New MGMT video: ‘The Youth’
Published 10/10/2008 by Tibi Puiu at ZME Music
Last year’s Oracular Spectacular was quite delicious, especially when on ’shrooms, while MGMT’s video for Time to Pretend could either scare you to hell or strip and start dancing on the melody. The band’s new video for “The Youth” isn’t by far as trippy as Time to Pretend, but it’s very fun nonetheless. Directed Eric Wareheim, from Adult Swim’s “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!,” the video for “The Youth” features a few kids, ‘wrapped’ up in ’80s, stonner revivalist sorta ...

Not to ruin the surprise before my post, but Andrew from MGMT guested on an awesome cover at last night’s Of Montreal show. Here’s their new video for “The Youth.”

Early buzz: 'Iron Man 2,' '90210,' 'Twilight' and more

Good morning, friends and neighbors! It's Tuesday, and I'm feeling overwhelmed by all of the TV I haven't had time to watch. I wonder if it would be acceptable to skip work so I could catch up on Entourage , Heroes and Dexter ? As I ponder this, please peruse these headlines: - Wow, Don Cheadle will replace Terrence Howard ...

Weird Web Wednesdays: Golf Course Astronaut
Published 10/15/2008 by Sean at Film Junk
This week on Weird Web Wednesday, we’ve got a prank so perfectly executed I can’t believe no one has thought of it before… an astronaut taking one small step on a golf course! It makes you wonder why there aren’t any golf courses on the moon. Also this week, a little kid learns how not to ride a bike, and Cookie Monster sings Chocolate Rain. It’s interesting to note that this video only came into existence after Michael Scott mentioned it on last week’s episode of The Office. The internet is truly a place where dreams come true. Golf Course Astronaut ...

Wired Music: New MGMT Video – ‘The Youth’
Published 10/17/2008 by Alyk at Allie Is Wired - The Entertainment Blog
Electronic duo MGMT released the fourth video from their stellar disc Oracular Spectacular. Although not as catchy as the hit single “Electric Feel,” I’m glad they gave “The Youth” a chance—it’s a great track. Eric Wareheim from Adult Swim’s “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” directed “The Youth,” featuring cute, lip-synching kiddos dressed up in sequins.
