australiatrailer.jpg Australia is the latest epic from acclaimed director Baz Luhrmann ( Moulin Rouge! , Romeo + Juliet ), starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. Hmm… Luhrmann, Kidman and Jackman? They obviously planned that. Anyway, as far as I know this movie is not a musical, but rather a period piece set prior to World War II, with a pair of cattle ranchers driving their herd across Northern Australia when they are caught in the Japanese bombing of Darwin. Luhrmann himself is Australian, and seems eager to tell the story of an event that has been called the “Pearl Harbor of Australia”. I suspect this will be better than Michael Bay’s Pearl ...

hey y'all! earlier today i came across the brand new trailer for australia - the latest epic film from one of my favorite directors - aussie baz luhrmann (strictly ballroom, moulin rouge, romeo + juliet) it stars fellow aussies nicole kidman & hottie hugh jackman and based on the short trailer below - i can't freakin' wait! it looks like totally my type of film - sweepingly grand & romantic! although unfortunately we'll have to wait until november 14th for the film's worldwide release :( i hope each of you are having a splendid weekend - right now mine is kind of sucking but that's another whole long story - ...
